More than I was expecting! As you walk in the doors you are greeted by one of the friendly staff. The showroom has everything a Mitchers fan could ask for: shirts, coasters, books, and of course many of their Bourbon selections. It was a 15-20 min wait to get up to the bar. The host was very polite. When it was my time, the elevator opened as she called me and she said āyour chariot has arrivedā made me smile. As I came off the elevator I was greeted by Georgia and she showed me my seat at the bar. A glass of water and an assortment of snacks was waiting. The snacks were small pretzel balls, dried bananas, and crunchy quicos. The crunchy quicos (corn nuts) are a must try(see sticker). The first drink I ordered was the Falls of the O-H-I-O Fizz. It was delicious! Frothy due to the egg white, with a little touch of sweet, and gentle burn from the bourbon. The second drink I ordered was the Fort Nelson Crusta. The presentation was beautiful. Thereās a whole lot of sweet in this one. The sugar brim was the icing on the cake. Georgias service was outstanding, I canāt say enough. Her and her team are experts at their craft. The setting is very warm and down home. I highly recommend this place if youāre single or on a date. Georgia and her staff will make you feel at home....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friends and I stopped by since we were a bit early to a dinner reservation in the area. I do think on a busy night, it would be best to make a reservation. You enter through their merchandise shop and check-in. There is a very large variety of fun merchandise- T-shirts, glasses, decor, pins, stickers, some fancier things-- something for everyone, even the pups.
There is an elevator and a staircase to get you to the bar on the second floor and it is a beautiful, inviting area. Great for groups probably up to 4 people. I believe there was one or two tables for maybe 5-6 people. The bartenders are so engaging and so eager to answer any questions and have a fun conversation. Their recommendations on cocktails were fantastic.
They have a great variety of beautiful cocktails (even for those who don't like whiskey š¤«š«£). They do switch up the cocktails but, when I went, they have some that are more tropical, fruit-forward whiskey and non-whiskey drinks as well as some more spice-forward. My favorite was the Nectar of the Gods, a horchata-inspired...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat bar, but with the potential to be so much more. Traveling through the area, we decided to spend two days in Louisville. Our first night after dinner and a few different distillery tastings we got into Michter's and went to the bar. It was mostly empty so we had the run of the place. We sat at the bar and chatted up the bartenders. They were a highlight. I wish we'd learned their names, but one was a redheaded woman with curly hair and the other was in his first week or so on the job (4th of July weekend). Both were friendly, knowledgeable, and shared local tips for restaurants to check out in Louisville. We got a rye flight and a cocktail. The flight was on the pricey side albeit tasty. They should either pour heavier or lower the price - either would be fine. The boulevardier was our cocktail, and came out very well. The bartender brought us complimentary bar snacks, which we munched on while enjoying our flight. We would go back, but would be more selective in our orders as the flight seemed a...
