This diner has decent breakfast options and I love supporting local eateries. The wait staff is super sweet and nice, they interact with you and make you feel at home. Everything was cooked well and the ingredients are fresh but flavor wise not anything exciting. None of our food was seasoned at all so it lacked any flavor. If you like bland food though, this is the spot for you. Fresh, fast, and well cooked. They have an item on their menu called carne asada papas. Please do not order this dish if you're expecting anything that remotely resembles the look or taste of carne asada. This is more like a crock pot tasting kind of meat, also very bland. The description says Tri-tip but Tri-tip isn't what carne asada is made out of, it's skirt or sometimes flank. Either way, we though we'd try it. Wish we hadn't. Coffee was good and hot. The best thing we had was the Funnel bacon, described as bacon dipped in pancake batter. Well, it was awesome BUT don't expect bacon fried in pancake batter. It tastes exactly like beignet batter. We said they could easily fry up that batter and have awesome beignets covered in powdered sugar! Imagine beignets with bacon stuffed inside, YUM! Dipped in the syrup they provided, double yum. When they came to the table they looked overfried at first glance because it's a darker fry but they did not taste butned at all and the inside texture was perfection. We'll probably return just for the "beignet" battered bacon in the future paired with some good hot coffee. Check out this sweet and salty dish, it's great.

I visited Doug’s Day Diner on a Friday morning around 8 AM and was greeted with a 20-minute wait for a table—or the option to self-seat at the counter. I chose the counter, which filled up completely within 30 minutes, leaving a crowd waiting by the door for seating. The layout of the diner features a large counter seating area and a seemingly smaller, more spaced-out dining area. Service was prompt and friendly, which added to the overall positive experience. I ordered the ham eggs Benedict, and while the thick-cut ham was excellent and the fresh-cut potatoes were a nice touch, the eggs were slightly overcooked for a Benedict. Despite this, the flavors were enjoyable, and the service was accommodating throughout my visit. One downside was the cramped feeling once the counter became full, with elbow room being a bit tight among neighbors. Overall, Doug’s Day Diner offers a pleasant breakfast experience with good flavors and attentive service, though it’s best to plan ahead for the busy morning crowd and consider table seating if elbow space is a priority.

I was ABSOLUTELY blown away at Doug’s Day Diner in Loveland. The food was so good. I had the Papas - Cowboy and it was so delicious, and the 7 others in my group were just as impressed with their varied food selections. I have Celiac Disease and therefore I needed to make sure the food prep was fully gluten free and the food was fully gluten free. I spoke to the hostess about it and she in turn had the manager come talk with me so that I could make sure everything would be safe for me to eat. The manager was so incredibly nice, understanding, and informative. She was awesome. It really helped me no longer worry about the food there. And I had no reaction, so it was a success! And the other amazing part of my visit was our incredible waitress, Ali. Best waitress I’ve had in YEARS. Seriously. She was phenomenal. She was attentive, extremely friendly and helpful, and had the best attitude and demeanor. ✨ I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be returning in the future. 👏🏻

This past Sunday we had brunch here & it won't be our last! It's a popular restaurant so we had to wait a bit, but there was a comfortable bench for us in the shade out front..and THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT!! The menu is QUITE varied: various and creative eggs, salads, burgers (maybe 8 oz? & delicious!), sandwiches, a dynamite Reuben (w/lean corned beef), Mexican, and these are just a few of your categories of choices! They offered a wide variety of sides with our sandwiches at no extra charge. We chose fries (and received an enormous pile of tasty ones) & a terrific side salad (lots of fresh veggies & nuts on top!). Their Ranch salad dressing is homemade & THE BEST we ever ate; wish I could buy jars of it! They make their own blackberry jam, too!! Many of the dishes are served with "breakfast biscuits", which are freshly homemade, hamburger-bun sized rolls, actually...delicious!! My burger was served on a homemade roll; I think made from the same dough...kind of a mildly sweet bread dough. They also make and serve slices of their own dill pickles with the burgers... yummy!!! The coffee was hot and delicious and the service prompt and friendly. The portions are huge; you'll satisfy hungry people and definitely get your money's worth at this reasonably priced diner. All 3 of us who ate there enjoyed and appreciated our food and our experience at Doug's! No, I am NOT related to any of Doug's owners or stockholders & I'm not receiving anything for this glowing review. It's just that we had such a delicious and delightful meal there that I can't wait to go back to Doug's!! My son and daughter-in-law recently moved to Loveland. Now I have two wonderful reasons to drive up from Denver for a visit....or maybe just drive up on my own for lunch at Doug's (and to visit family, of course! 😘) . It's THAT good!! You won't regret trying...

So went in with folks from out of town on a Tuesday AM! It was my first time, and chosen based on opportunity of no line out the door!

Three orders of Breakfast Burrito (did not know of the size - 2nd time around was good too), One order of Eggs Benedict. The food was good! We sat outside on the back patio - what a great spot!

A group next to us was sat after we ordered... Got their food (2x breakfast burritos) and our waitress looked puzzled. Seems as though our burritos were not fired (totally ok, it happens). She brought out the Eggs Benedict - this was part of the problem. I paid the bill, tipped the standard so I'm not complaining to complain here, however my expectation as a customer is as follows:

  1. Kitchen mistakes happen - when they do, re-fire the order, don't bring me cold Eggs Benedict, so I can wait even longer, knowing it wasn't re-fired .. until the rest of the order arrives!

  2. Don't make me ask for a manager... do the right thing and ask for something off the bill (anything) "I took care of the (whatever), sorry about the issue you had..." -This is where the wait staff works for their tip, this is where the manager supports their staff, this is where I write a review about how I was taken care of and will return...etc. etc.

Food was decent at the end of the day, ambiance was nice, but ultimately commitment to me as a customer is what would have enticed me to come...
