The food is great and reasonably priced along with very friendly staff and due to corporate decision they were not allowed to open with fryers or and icecream machine and to all the people such as Azureus Maggiorni, Peter Bitter, Nathan Sade, Bianca Marie, Angela Coleman, Ace Wagner, and Kelly Myers restaurants sell out when they have a busy day and when you come in at 8 theres a good possibility they’ll be out of something and they sell the potatoes as a courtesy so they’re not required to have them and the chicken, ribs, and sausage are made daily so it’s much harder to calculate how much needs to be made and at the morons out there that say this location is nothing compared to the carlisle pike Dickey’s then you can go over there to see a closed sign meaning they did not last. Yes the menu is different but they do offer plates with sides and deals of the day and if you’re too stupid to pick a plate or haven’t made it through elementary school and don’t understand the idea of an À la carte then maybe you should just order a pizza or something easier for your feeble mind to understand and if you think the portions are small maybe you should watch what you’re eating a little better because my family consistently has to get to go boxes to take our leftovers home. Ignore those who have never worked in a restaurant and don’t understand the constant struggle of preparing food and serving it to ungrateful rude customers for much less money than most jobs get. To all those mentioned above stop being ungrateful jerks and maybe mention something to a manager who will kindly reimburse you or make sure you take home some good food and say thank you because you never know what the people who serve you are going through. If you simply don’t enjoy the food don’t come back and especially don’t go post about how bad your food was just because you’re upset you don’t understand how to order food or it didn’t meet your impossible standards. Restaurant workers are people too please keep...

Native Texan here, and this is the closest I’ve come to finding a place outside of Texas that serves up decent barbecue—especially the sausage. The sausage was the star on my plate.

I had ordered brisket as well. The meat was fine but it wasn’t cut into nice thin slices like brisket is always served in Texas. So I didn’t get to see evidence of a smoke ring or able to give the meat a nice tug to see that accordion flex effect to demonstrate it was cooked properly because it came to me looking more like pulled pork.

But they get points for not drowning their meats in sauce. They leave that up to you. The flavor of the sauce was spot on, but a little too thick in texture like a barbecue sauce from the store. It should be thin.

And although untoasted Texas toast bread is what’s traditionally served, the little roll they give you with your meal instead is buttery and savory. I wasn’t angry at it.

It all came served on butcher paper and they have pickles and onions to go along with it too.

Some of the sides weren’t traditional but I’ll take creamed spinach any day over beans , coleslaw, and/or potato salad.

The staff were professional and the facility was clean. ...

Ordered the Western sandwich online... The meat was alright- got brisket and PULLED pork, with Mac and cheese, and green beans side.

It seemed slow inside- there was no sense of urgency or priortization, it took a while for me to get acknowledged for online pick up (no biggie- she was writing on paper) and there was only one other guest behind me that was waiting to order. Then my order wasn't even made and he was quickly assembling it. I came ~15m past the estimated time. He checked the receipt 3x so I assumed everything was correct, but still my order was inaccurate. I really don't think I got the right sandwich, got mashed potatoes instead of green beans, and chunks of pork instead of pulled pork.

With the sandwich, it was a roll. A roll for my sandwich. Literally a 2" x 3" roll. And the meat was on the side aka not assembled- brisket (good) and CHUNKS of pork (think chicken breast+ texture- however w seasoning I wouldn't expect to be paired with BBQ sauce (almost like stuffing) and Mac and cheese with mashed potatoes- not green beans+ side portions were quite small for the price.

Just passing through for another local attraction and not a good first experience...

We will not be visiting this Dickies again. The only good thing was the meat was moist/decent. Rest of food was pre placed in containers and cold. The fries were "freshly" fried so we had to wait. Ended up not completely cooked and so greasy you could squeeze out the oil. It was not clean. The employee's dressed however they chose with zero professionalism. No one handling the food had hats or anything on their heads to prevent hair in food. People were just walking in from the outside and going in the back to hug and hang out with friends. While paying for my food one said visitor who walked in and hugged people was talking about how she had not been feeling well and "had diarrhea all morning". Absolutely unacceptable!!! The side station was filthy. The utensils didn't look clean at all! Overall horrible experience.

First time here. Very rustic in style. Meats smoked on site. They have a different "deal of the day", which it would have been nice, since it was our first visit,if that had been pointed out to us. Anyway, this is a 3rd generation family owned business since 1941,since franchised, that still has the first location in operation. They have a good selection of meats including chicken breast, turkey, pork, kielbasa and beef brisket. We ordered the two meat plate with 2 sides. The beef brisket and chicken were very good. You have your choice of the sauce to add.The only complaint I have is the meat should have been hot..it was lukewarm.
