Bruster’s has been my go to for great ice cream and service after a long day. Unfortunately, the employees this year are not welcoming and don’t know how to fulfill orders correctly. When my kids and I visited two weeks ago, the staff seemed inconvenienced by our order and weren’t the really nice and welcoming staff from years past. Watching and listening, as we waited in the drive thru, it seemed like we interrupted their teen hangout time. My kids’ orders were correct but my hot fudge sundae with marshmallow (they almost didn’t give me sundae until they looked at my order again and saw that I had ordered it) was just ice cream and whipped cream, no hot fudge or marshmallow. Once I realized (about a block or two away) I drove back to get a refund. I explained what the issue and that it’s been a long day so i just wanted my money back and to go home. I paid cash so you would think it would be simple, right? Nope, all the staff started arguing and bickering to each other and one girl told another that she should do it because she closing manager (with so much attitude.) I told my kids that i would be a while before we go back to give them time to adjust to their job (thinking they were new.)
Tonight, my oldest ordered through the mobile app for her and her sisters. When she got to the mobile window, no one came to greet her. There was also a lady upset with her order and asked for a refund, her receipt, a coupon, or something but they refused to do anything and ended up telling them to keep the sundae and left. Eventually, my daughter got her order. Thankfully we were heading home for them to eat it, rather than going to a park or something like we typically do because there were no spoons or napkins. She ordered three small ice creams in waffle bowls. One coffee, one Oreo, and one half raspberry/half vanilla. The coffee was correct besides looking significantly smaller than the other two, but they did all raspberry for one and half vanilla/half oreo for the other two. Additionally, one of the waffle bowls looked and smelled burnt.
I understand that the staff in the past have probably moved on to school or adult careers. However, I feel like this year’s crew could use more training and a great deal of training to learn how to be customer service oriented and lose the attitudes while working. I will be moving on to give Faddie’s or Rita’s a try...
Read moreWent to the drive through, was the only car in sight. No customers at the window. My wife ordered 3 milk shakes, 2 of them were for her parents. But I got a regular size in a cup. We pull up to the window, still no customers. Waited a few minutes, they hand me my ice cream, it was already dripping from being melted cuz they had it sitting on the counter while they were making the milkshakes forgot to give us one of them and forgot we had signed the receipt. I get it, it’s a hot day, but there’s no reason to just sit it there until the rest of the orders are finished. Then they didn’t even give me any napkins. It was just a mess before I even started to eat it. And then when I went to go throw the container away, the trash can is overflowing. At this time it’s 6pm. There’s no reason for that. And they aren’t that busy. Y’all need to be...
Read moreWent through the drive thru today(2/11/23) at 8pm. Tried to order a brownie sundae. They said the hot fudge pump was broke. Ok, so we ordered two cups of regular ice cream and two pup cups for our dogs. We pull around, they give us our ice cream and say have a nice night. We asked about the pup cups and the girl at the window acted annoyed that we asked about something we ordered, sprayed whipped cream into two cups and handed them out the window and went back to laughing and fooling around with her coworkers. We get ice cream from here quite a bit but if this is how service is going to be, we will go elsewhere where they don’t make you feel like you are...
