Waitress got the drink order wrong. Then argued when my sister in law told her it was wrong. Then, I ordered a cheese enchilada plate, specifically asking to make sure the sauce used does not contain meat because I'm vegetarian. My plate came out, and I could instantly see the little meat pieces under the cheese. Inquired again and was reassured the sauce does not contain meat. I poked around with my fork to uncover the meat pieces and flagged the waitress over, kindly explaining that I would rather send the plate back and not eat anything. She again said, "The sauce DOES NOT contain meat" with attitude, and I said, "Well.... I'm showing it to you right here." She rolled her eyes and took the plate. I got up and left my family there to finish their meal. After I left, my sweet 84 year mother in law tried to explain to the waitress that I don't eat meat, to which the waitress responded, "If she doesn't eat meat, then why did she come here?!" And you know what? This vegetarian and her family will NOT be returning. I eat with anywhere from 4 to 12 meat eating family members regularly. There are plenty of places to get better food and better service, y'all. By the way, I'm redheaded but Hispanic and spoke in Spanish the entire time, so it was not like there was a 'lost in...
Read moreFirst time trying this restaurant.. Two of us had beef enchiladas and the other a Gordito plate.. Chips tasted old and grease soaked, salsa had an actual Sweet taste to it. Not a fan of either. Meals came fairly quickly. Waitress acted like the plates were very hot when she sat them down, but the rice on all three plates was Cold. The refried beans were the only hot things on the plates. The meat inside the beef enchiladas was so minced and pulverized it was hard to tell if it was ground beef or dog food. Cheese was just about non-existent. The Gordito plate was too awful to even eat. Majority of the food was left on the plates. Our checks were finally brought and included a "surprise" charge of a 3.99% additional fee for any payment other than cash. Our waitress could not speak English and we speak little Spanish, but this IS the USA not Mexico. Would be helpful if you employed servers that speak English. Decorum: looks like a Mexican restaurant inside an old Pizza location! There are tons of Mexican restaurants in Lubbock that serve delicious food. In our unanimous opinion, this was NOT...
