As a long-time visitor of Ludington, Timbers of Ludington is a wonderful new addition to the local restaurant scene. The main dining atmosphere is warm and inviting and features an ample menu with reasonably priced items for the quality of food. The fact that Timbers is family owned and operated and offers fresh alternatives vs. bar fare is refreshing--plus the restaurant is suitable for children. I recently enjoyed the fresh perch dinner and it came with several large pieces of fish, coleslaw and a heap of fries. On another occasion during lunch, I tried a sandwich wrap with a grilled side salad instead of fries. It was busy during our recent visit, but we were not pressed for time and just enjoyed chatting plus a beer at the bar while waiting for a table. They have a nice craft beer selection, and feature many local brews on tap. We plan to try the outdoor deck and order a beverage and/or appetizers on our next visit. Caught several live bands upstairs in the Timber Loft. If you sit on the outdoor deck, you can hear the music indoors and enjoy the night sky.

Today October 12th me and my man ate at Timber as a result of another local restaurant we adore being packed. We were offered the last table in the pub when we arrived. We were seated almost immediately with waters, however it take about 20 minutes to receive our drinks. We got our app first and then drinks. The egg roll app was awesome. Best egg rolls ever. The owner stopped at our table and was pleasant, definitely a great thing we look for. We did hear another woman complain to him something about 30 Mins with no service or something, she walked out. However we did not have that issue, I think because of our server who was very nice. A group of girls that sat next to us were waiting still when we left (probably 40+ mins) and still hadn’t ordered but they were going to homecoming and young and wouldn’t have complained. The crab cakes were very good but did seem over priced for the portion size. And the whitefish battered was just ok. Overall I would come back for a drink and a app, but no food.

We hosted our wedding reception at Timbers in Ludington, Michigan, and it was truly everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, the staff especially Mandy, went above and beyond—they were not only friendly and professional, but also incredibly intuitive, anticipating our needs before we even voiced them. The food was absolutely delicious, with the macaroni and cheese being a standout favorite among our guests (we’re still getting compliments about it!). The team at Timbers also did a beautiful job transforming the space into something cozy, romantic, and welcoming, making the evening feel both intimate and elegant. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special day. If you’re considering Timbers for any event—or just a great meal—you won’t be disappointed!

There was not a single part of our visit that went well. When we arrived we were the only people in this small restaurant but still took several minutes to be greeted. Once we had a table, which was smaller than the booth we were in, a squeeze for four grown adults, it took far too long for our waitress to come take drink orders and even longer to get said drinks. We were given two separate menus, which complicated ordering since we weren’t sure which menu was the correct one and there was very little overlap between the two.

We ended up ordering an appetizer of Brussels sprouts, a bowl of lobster bisque with a side salad, two different burgers and a pulled pork sandwhich.

The Brussels took over 10 minutes to come out, keeping in mind we were still the only people in the restaurant. They were lukewarm at best and the plates we were given to split between us were so cold it felt like they were taken out of a refrigerator.

By the time our food came, the restaurant had filled up, so clearly this is not an unpopular place to visit.

Both burgers were VERY overcooked and dry with a burnt crust on the outside. They were thick, which given how overcooked they were just shows how long they were on the grill. The thickness was because they weren’t pressed properly, being much smaller than the buns. The buns were also black from being over toaster. You could taste the burnt parts. The lobster bisque was, interesting. It looked more like a tomato bisque, being dark red. The taste was interesting, not bad, but not a traditional lobster bisque. We never received the side salad.

We asked at one point for a side of ranch and bbq to help make the overcooked burgers more palatable, but we never received them. We ended up trying to eat the overcooked sandwhiches dry and lukewarm since they were also brought out not very hot.

We asked for the check, the waitress asked if it was one check or multiples. We were going to take one check, but since she asked we asked her to split tabs and were met with a huff and an eye roll.

We received the checks and they were split incorrectly, no biggie, we all have Venmo and will figure it out ourselves. We put our cards in the tabs and gave them back.

Just when you thought it couldn’t go worse, our cards were charged to the wrong tabs. Again, not a big deal at this point, we’ll figure it out on our own.

All in all, there was truly not a single part of this dinner that went well or was enjoyable. The food was terrible and the service was atrocious. We didn’t speak to a manager, were out of towners and won’t ever be back, so it didn’t matter. We just wanted to leave.

Do yourself a favor and choose one of the numerous other restaurants to eat at. If you come here you will be extremely...

I wish we would have gotten pictures of what we walked into the day we set up for our event. We were there for a wedding reception and the bride had informed the owner that we would be there after the 4 pm rehearsal. The contract for this event indicated that there would be white table linens on the tables. When we arrived to decorate, the tables had food crumbs and ketchup on them. The chairs had cake frosting all over and there was used plastic silverware on a couple of the chairs. There were food crumbs all over the floor. And balloons from the previous event. The waitress didn't even know we were coming to set up and it took the owner an hour and half to return texts and phone calls. The bridal party rearranged the tables how we wanted them and when the owner finally came all he said was "sorry, I had an issue at the other location." The bridal party then had to ask for an easel to be moved and messages on the chalkboard to be erased. And also had to ask if the balloons and bar counter would be cleaned for the next day. The owner indicated "it will all be taken care of, I know the bride is stressed out". After we left, he then sent pictures to the bride via text. The bride was at the set up - he talked to her!!! And didn't even recognize it was her. The bride missed time with her family from out of state because of the time we had to put in at the restaurant and he tried to blame her being stressed out. He was completely unprofessional and non communicative throughout the entire process - even before the day of setup and the event. I do not recommend this restaurant for an event. The owner fails to communicate. The day of the event, there were also issues regarding bar service and the bridal party didn't have drinks when they walked in to make the toast. Which meant the photographers had to be there longer than intended. The owner had been told the day before that a member of the bridal party would be at the restaurant to handle any issues that came up and the owner failed to communicate the bar service issues to this member.

While the food at this event was good, it was made by the chef at the other location. Two days prior to the event, the bridal party came to the bar and grill for dinner and food was served cold. And when we asked to get out of the cold and rain (it had been sunny when we chose to sit on the deck) we were told we couldn't go inside. If they had opened the event space for us then, we would have known the issues in advanced and could have addressed them...

Not all servers seam to really want to work there. Seen one employee thin pretty girl looks to go outside, or bathroom or somewhere in the back a lot. Another girl bigger girl look to be getting run ragged because she got to pick up the slack. And the bar tender look like there having her do to much. Seen a couple of guys working there here and there but dont stay long. Food was really really overpriced and does not match what it was on the menu. Food was either over cooked or under cooked. From what I could tell the kitchen staff just yell, swear, and plays loud music very very unprofessional, and don't know how to cook what on the menu. I see a couple ppl get a burger from there special menu for burgers and right on the menu it say come with American cheese. I hear the cook saying no it does not and I know what im cooking. The desserts was way over priced and most are uneatable. I don't know what changed over the years but with most of the staff looking the same maybe it time for them to go in a new direction. I would not eat here even if was the last place to eat. Use to eat there all the time and food was good. But now with so many restaurants in the area, there are so many options to go to for better food at a way better price. I feel one of those cooking shows need to come in there and show them what all there doing wrong and how to fix it. One good thing no long wait to get a table but that also because not many people in there. It look dirty in the restaurant like they only clean what they must. Very low lighting and dirty. And when I see cook or cooking staff come up from the kitchen or back they look very unprofessional, dirty, and lost. I know prices need to change with times but it feels ever time I go in it cost more like there trying to make up for a failing business less people so it cost more. Train you cook better, have a staff that want to be there and do a very deep clean. Go back to the basics with food and lower prices, and watch this turn back into what...
