First off I grew up with Ye all come Back and now that its Brenda's I am very disappointed. My family has been enjoy this restaurant for years and continues to do so now that its Brenda's. The food is still great and the price is just right. However I am about one experience away from telling my family which includes many of the well known names in Ludington to stop going to Brenda's. Why? because of the staff. When a waitress has to work over her shift just to cover for another who refuses to serve customers because she doesn't like them, and then continues to be disrespectful to customers who have a long history with this restaurant, well its down right wrong. At first its overlook able but when a waitress can have the audacity to listen in on private phone calls and then loudly disrespects the customers because she doesn't like what she hears and can be rude to the point of pushing a baby stroller out of her way when she can just have the respect to walk around or threaten a mother and her child by telling them that they should never come to her restaurant well by all means she should be fired. My friends and family have loved ye all come back and have hoped that Brenda's would be able to hold to the same friendly and family like setting but it seems that some people believe customers don't need to be respected or served if the waitress has a personal issue with them. Customers should not be forced to tolerate this type of behavior...

I have mixed reviews about this place. I arrived about 12:30 pm ( the place close at 2pm) It was 17 of us. But when we walked in, you could clearly see about 5 tables of 4 empty, plus people was getting ready to leave. The hostess greeted us, asked how many, we said 17( 1 was a baby). The hostess immediately told us that they would not be able to accommodate us. We tried to explain to her that we are willing to seat separate. She then explain they was down one Cook. Mind you everybody was either eating or waiting for food. NOW I'M GETTING THE RACIST VIBE FROM THE HOSTESS. She then had to have at least a 3 to 5 minutes conversations with I guess was the manager, owner, cook, and waitresses. With 12 hungry kids, we wasn't trying look for somewhere else to eat. Especially sent we came because of the good reviews. After a few minutes they went on to seat us separate as we had suggested. Fast forward, my waitress was nice and efficient. The food was ok, but I have had better. I further noticed, they had no problem seating others after us. The same hostess, stated they was closed after us. But once again, a few Caucasian came in and where seated right away. I found several of the other guest to be very friendly. I'm sure I won't go back because of the RACIST VIBE I got and the food...

What an incredibly mixed bag. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich as I wanted something light, cold, crunchy, and refreshing - what i got was whole chunks of chicken in what appeared to be pure mayonnaise. Not a dice of onion or celery to be spotted, just pure bland thick whiteness. Couldn't get more than three bites in. However, the Swedish pancake I ordered was literally so delicious that I ended up adding on a second one. The sweet potato fries were just okay but looked a little overcooked to my eye and maybe felt a bit dry texturally. To get my protein in since I couldn't do the chicken sandwich, I asked for an over-medium sunny-side up egg, which was just okay and a little underdone to my taste with some translucent white around the yolk; the turkey bacon, which was pretty good; and the sage sausage link, which was actually juicy, even though I wish it had been browned on more than just one side. In conclusion: I would only recommend going if you absolutely know that what you want is an item they do well, because there are some ups and DOWNS on this menu. (Unless you know you only want Swedish pancakes. Then I can unreservedly recommend...

We were there this morning having breakfast before boarding the Badger. They were very busy. The waitress informed us she was alone and we could seat ourselves. I have to admit, I initially thought it wasn't going to be a good experience. Boy was I wrong. The waitress kept the coffee full. The food was done quickly and correctly. And the prices were extremely reasonable. I had steak and eggs. My daughter had eggs benedict and a swedish burrito. The food really was very good. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely visit and highly recommend.

Brenda’s cafe is a staple of downtown Ludington. Each time my fiancé and I visit we make a point to stop here for a meal. We love the breakfast! The stuffed French toast is one of the best items on the menu! It is impressive to see Brenda running around and making sure everything runs swimmingly. Your coffee will always be hot and fresh here! Make sure to stop by if you’re hungry - if there’s a wait it’s totally worth it! Also, the bathrooms are very clean especially considering the high volume of traffic the establishment serves.
