🌟🍴 Food Review: Off the Rails, Ludlow, Vermont 🍴🌟 📍 Located at 64 Pond St, Ludlow, VT 05149, Off the Rails offers a vibrant bar vibe perfect for casual dining. Here's what we tried: 🧀 Loaded Nachos: Topped with pulled pork, Monterey Jack cheese, pico de gallo, house-made guacamole, sour cream, jalapeños, and pickled onions, these nachos were bursting with flavor! The creamy cheese was a highlight, though the bucket presentation made sharing a bit tricky. 🌶️🥑 7/10 🥟 Classic Calzone: Stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella, and ham, this calzone was cooked to perfection. A simple, satisfying bite! 🧀 7/10 🍞 Garlic Knots: Tossed in EVOO, parmesan, and chopped garlic with Italian seasoning, served with marinara sauce. These could use more garlic punch and that satisfying cheese pull. 🧄🧀 5/10 🍕 Pizzas: We tried two varieties: Bianca Pizza: Topped with diced cherry tomatoes, arugula, caramelized onions, mozzarella, and a balsamic glaze. Fresh but could use a zestier touch. OTR Cheese Pizza: Classic with rustic tomato sauce, basil, and mozzarella. It satisfied our pizza cravings but could be crispier. 🍅🧀 7/10 each. 🎶 Vibes: The ambiance really picked up with the live band, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the evening. 🎷🎤 Ambiance: 8/10 💸 Affordability: Good value for the money, especially if you're in town craving some hearty bar food. 8/10 🍽️ Overall, while the food at Off the Rails was average, the lively atmosphere and solid bar bites make it a worthy stop if you're in Ludlow and in the mood for some comfort food and tunes. Food: 7/10

The ambiance and view were very nice. The golf challenge in front is a great idea and fun too. The service was on the slow side but it wasn’t bad enough to take away from the pretty scenery. The food however was not great. If we weren’t hungry and on our way out of town we would have probably not eaten it. The boneless buffalo wings were alright with just the right amount of spice, but it was cubed fried breast meat which was dry and served without a knife to make them into bite sizes. The burger, in their defense says it’s a “well done” but juicy smash burger. It was well done alright and the juice was nowhere to be found. It was smothered in sweet baby rays, maybe that was supposed to make it moist. The onion ring was the best part. The homemade chips are nothing more than the bland tricolor tortilla chips that come right off the food distributor truck. The pizzas smelled good, I’d recommend sticking with those.

Cute spot and lively, fun vibe. But if you're an impatient person or need a quick bite and they look slammed, maybe go elsewhere. If not though, come check it out! Pro tip: It seemed to calm down around 8:40pm. We were having a leisurely evening so we didn't mind waiting. It took around 10-15 minutes for a server to come by after we were seated, so I just went up and got our drinks from the bar and brought them back to the table. It then took around 40 minutes receive our chili + bbq sandwich, and they forgot my caesar salad, but like I said, they were totally slammed. The chili was enough to fill me up though, and it was really good. Bbq sandwich was a bit too sweet for our liking. Anyway, I think they were just having a crazy night.

Really was hoping the best for this place. Hopefully this review will catch the owner’s attention, but we didn’t have a great experience. I’ll caveat this by saying they were very busy, and I know that’s hard to keep everyone happy, but there were many missed opportunities, and no apologies. Firstly, once we were at our table, we didn’t have a server come over for 15 minutes. We knew he saw us because he was waiting all the tables around us, but he didn’t say a word.

Secondly was the timing. Once he came over, we went ahead and ordered food since we weren’t sure we’d have another chance for a while. He took our orders, and within 3 minutes the first entree came out (before we even had waters at the table). The waters came out about 5 minutes later, and 2 of the next 5 entrees came out 10 minutes after that, 15 minutes after the first entree. Everyone at our table got our food at seemingly random times over the course of half an hour, and the fries all came out 7 minutes before the burgers. None of the timing made sense at all. Lastly, I ordered the chicken and waffle cone, which claimed “bone-in” fried chicken and fried pickles, and was more expensive than most of the other entrees (I assumed because of the bone-in fried chicken). What I got was a joke. 2 fried pickles among a moderately small portion of boneless chicken nuggets. The meat was dry, and they tasted like they came from a Tyson bag and were covered up by a syrupy glaze.

This place has the opportunity to be excellent, and they’re choosing to not hire or train the...

The food is awful. Especially the nachos.

If you have to use that horrible cheese sauce from the 90s, you shouldn't have that thing on your menu. It messed my stomach up within minutes and now I'm still wrong the next day. That'll be nice for my ski trip.

All 3 of our group laughed out loud when they set it down. Complete joke, totally gross.

Then the Mac and cheese. Which I would describe as the same as above. Gross, flavorless, nasty glue. Man we messed up ordering anything with cheese here.

1 drink each right at the start. Then never asked if I, or we, wanted another beer (or water despite asking for), in the next 1.5 hours. The beer was fine.

What a waste of time and money. Service was awful. He was busy, but his co workers were just standing the eff around watching tv. I'm not exaggerating that we waited like 30 mins for our bill, for a CHANCE to ask for our bill. While employees just stood the eff around and ignored our asking.

If you want bad food, and to pay a lot for it, go here. Otherwise go literally anywhere else because the food and service here is a total joke and $5/plate would be over priced. They charge $15-20, for reasons no one in the world could justify.

Disgusting, a waste of my time, money, and a bad start to my Vaca....
