On June 4th, 2023 my wife and I stopped here for dinner during a recent vacation to VT. We chose to dine at The Killarney over other establishments in the area because they claim to honor military and first responders, something that is stated right on their website. We were seated in the bar area (requested), service was immediate and excellent by two different servers. The food also excellent. We had the potato leek soup and the pot roast. The pot roast was a generous portion, tender and just about melted in your mouth. The amount of fire/police/military memorabilia posted all over the walls really made you think that this establishment supports and honors our nation's bravest men and women. Upon checking out, I inquired with the bartender how to get the patch of my fire department displayed on the wall amongst the others. I was told "you give the patch to me and I'll put it in the pile with the several hundred other patches we have and maybe one day it will make it on the wall". As a first responder (firefighter), there was no honor or respect in the statement made by the bartender, it really felt like a slap in the face. Our entire experience was great up until this point, but the bartenders choice of words ruined the entire experience. I will never go back. I hope other military and first responders read this to see what their staff really thinks of our nation's bravest men and women. I will inform the 200+ members on my department of my experience here. Yes, it might not seem like a big deal but when an establishment claims to honor and respect military/first responders and openly encourage them to bring a patch to be displayed and the establishment does the exact opposite, that is so disrespectful and a disservice to our brave men and women. This place gets 2 stars, but could have been 5...

My boyfriend and I came in at 9pm and immediately were told that the kitchen closed at 10. We were taken to a dirty table and told that it would be cleaned off soon. I asked to sit at the table next to it since it was clean and was told ok that’s fine. After sitting and waiting for 10 - 15 mins not one of the 7 women on staff stopped to take our order. However, they were very concerned about the leftovers that the previous people had left behind. After a few more mins the hostess came to tell us that we could go to the bar to order drinks if the waitress didn’t come over soon. Then, a min later she came back to tell us the waitress had told us to go to the bar to order drinks. My boyfriend had run 13+miles in the spartan race today and the last thing he wanted to do was serve himself at the bar. I got up went to the bar and was ignored for about 5 mins - the bartender had her back to me the entire time going over register transactions. Finally, she turns around and “helps”. The entire time 6 other women are just running around doing nightly tasks to busy to serve or wait on patrons. Horrible experience, I’d give 0 stars but that’s not an option. I’ve now have been here 34 mins and not one member of staff have acknowledged us other than the hostess.

Update - To the Owner - We did not feel un-cared for... we were un-cared for. Not one member of your staff talked to us or served us once the hostess sat us. Absolutely disgraceful "service". We will...

A group of 4 had dinner here on 9-18-25. I ordered the beef tips from their special. When it arrived, I tried one of the first pieces and it was amazing. Very tender and cooked perfect. But then I tried my second piece, it had the texture of mashed potatoes and tasted spoiled. I immediately got our waitress and showed her the issue. My concern was, I'm sure they still have spoiled meat in the back, and I wanted her to alert the cooks as soon as possible. She apologized and took the plate back. When she returned to fill our drinks, I asked what the cook had to say. She said he claimed it was just a very tender piece of meat. This floored me. Zero lack of responsibility. I could literally spread this spoiled meat onto a cracker like pate. Not to mention the very spoiled taste. No manager was ever notified or talked with us. Our server was great, and we knew she had no say in the situation. When we walked up to the restaurant in the beginning, I noticed the kitchen had a separate door left wide open to the elements with the kitchen staff and I'm sure the owner, standing in there cutting up and cursing out loud about this and that. This did not bother me as it's a small town, but it’s obvious sanitation is not a concern nor are customers attempts at alerting to dangerous issues. None of us will be making a trip back here. They used to care but have gotten...

This was an interesting meal and my first time trying Irish food, so take it with a grain of salt. My favorite part of the meal was the ginger cider cocktail (I think it was a special) - SO WARM and delicious after a cold day on the slopes. For food, we got potato skins, shepherds pie, bangers and mash, pot roast, and wings. The verdict: Pot roast was amazing. So flavorful and tender and HUGE portion. Potato skins were delicious too - crispy bacon and crispy potatoes always makes for a good time. Shepherds pie was also good but not great - needed a little more flavor but when we ate it as leftovers and added a bit more salt it was delicious. Wings were crispy but I didn’t think they had enough sauce covering the wings. My least favorite was the bangers and mash - I think this is just a preference thing of not enjoying boiled sausages, but the gravy was not that flavorful either. I will have to try more Irish food in general to have a better idea. Overall would check this place out again if around the area.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere Just want to start by saying our server Melanie was awesome. Two people in our party have pretty serious food allergies and unlike a lot of places that guess or hedge on questions about food she went straight to the source by asking the kitchen. Much appreciated. Two of our party got the Shepard's pie and I think all of us were jealous. It looked and tasted amazing. I had the pot roast - subing fries for the mashed potatoes that had milk in them - and it too was amazing. This is exactly what I want to eat at the end of a day skiing so if you are up here in winter, put them down as a most go. Decent selection of craft beers as well as the usual suspects like Smithwichs and Guinness. And as you can see, they have their own root beer. Highly recommended.

Killarney's was a fun place to visit and eat. The place projects nothing but "Ireland!" The decor, the menu, the look and feel: Ireland 😁 I'm giving the food a 3.9 out of 5 and our waitress 5/5! They didn't have cocktail sauce for the fish and chips so she quickly made some herself from scratch. We asked for crispy calamari and it was outstanding 👌 however the fish and chips were nothing to write home about. One thing the North knows nothing about is seasoning. Add some Tabasco or Tony's Chachere's folks 😉
