This was my first time trying Sakura Sushi & Grill, at my granddaughter's request and she was right! It's a small restaurant, however, don't be deceived it was packed and with good reason! The food is delicious! Even though they were very busy the staff was friendly, professional and patient. We placed a to-go order and decided to wait in the car. They do have outdoor seating but they were all wet due to the rain, so we waited in the car. I had hibachi chicken and my granddaughter had the hibachi shrimp. My order came with white or fried rice, lo mein noodles and a very generous serving of chicken and vegetables in a delicious hibachi sauce and I got the house soup and salad. I also wanted to try the sushi so I ordered a California roll. I was able to finish the soup and salad. The remainder of my California roll after my granddaughter bravely decided she needed to perform the "Is it poisoned test" and about a quarter of my hibachi chicken! So, you know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow! ๐ Everything was so delicious and I will definitely be returning for lunch or dinner very soon! Sakura Sushi & Grill is definitely a dining experience that should...
ย ย ย Read moreI have no idea how this place is in business. My family went because we are new to the area and didn't know any better. We are vegetarian and did NOT order raw fish--or meat of any kind. Veggie sushi and veggie fried rice for everyone. At the time it was fine. Not great but not terrible. We shrugged it off as a "meh" meal. Only a few hours later, everyone was sick. I am not talking sore tummy. I am talking violently ill, sick from both ends. To clarify: we had our standard packets of oatmeal for breakfast earlier that day and nothing after our unfortunate choice of lunch. There is no way we got sick on anything else. It was food poisoning. No question. And it happened because they mishandled food at some point. I am disgusted. A sweet potato roll shouldn't induce 24 hours of constant vomitting. Veggie fried rice shouldnt cause 24 hours of painful cramping and diarrhea.
Of course, we later learned from a few locals that such an outcome is the norm when daring a meal at sakura. Wish I had seen THAT in the reviews before going with my family.

Shan Kishi is the best place for sushi in 100 miles of here. $20 all you can eat, with the best staff & freshest food. This is just run of the mill sushi/nigiri.
Trust me I'm not showing up because it's trendy. I was eating sushi since I lived in New York City and I eat it with chopsticks, never hands or forks, & when I'm done I leave my chopsticks perfectly across my plate. I expect my waitresses to treat me as if I'm knowledgeable about the Japanese customs, but I often find they think I'm like most Americans... Ignorant. I have to tell them that I want my sake a certain way or my wasabi hotter, etc. I'm not bragging - I'm just illustrating that most people will eat garbage in a rice roll if it's served on a fancy plate here because they didn't grow up with it. Don't be fooled. This isn't the best for...
