I typically don't experience problems when I get food from Waffle House, but this visit was a disappointment. There were a lot of employees in the kitchen, but it didn't appear that there was any clear organization as to who should be doing what. Several employees, including the manager, just seemed to be socializing. One employee even mentioned that a customer had been waiting at a table for a long time and hadn't been helped yet. I noticed that it was past the time for the eggs to be discarded according to the sign above the egg basket. I ordered a waffle and a side of bacon to go. After some time, an employee said that someone needed to watch the waffle on the right. I couldn't see what was going on, so I didn't think anything of it. Finally, I was called up to get my order. When I got to work and opened my container, I realized that I had received the overcooked waffle and my bacon was also extra crispy. If you know that you let a waffle cook longer than it needed to be cooked and someone called you out on it, why would you give that waffle to a customer? Read moreI normally don't complain about restaurants, but I really feel the need to say something about my experience tonight. So, there was 1 waitress on shift and there were quite a few tables, we expected a delay and a few hiccups. That's life.
Then the manager came. Now, I'm not sure what that poor waitress did to get chewed out loud enough for the enture restaurant to hear but that manager was way out of place. Especially considering that she didn't do anything to try and help her catch up, just walked straight to the back. It was in the middle of shift change and the manager starts yelling at the waitress in the back kitchen. Not just getting on to her, but yelling for the whole restaurant to hear. I exchanged looks with some other customers just to make sure I wasn't imagining this. I remember the waitress finally raising her voice to defend herself and the manager yells at her to not raise her voice! What?! My husband had stepped into the bathroom right before it started to blow up, and apparently those air vents carry sound very well. Read moreThe staff here are terrible. I went in 7/8/2024, to order a waffle and hash browns to go. I had a coupon for a free waffle and hash browns. The waitresses went back and forth about it for about 5 minutes, telling me they shouldn’t give it to me for free and that I HAD to make a purchase before I could use the coupon. After to speaking to a manager, they decided my coupon was valid and I could place my order. They did not want to give it to me for free as the coupon said. I eventually got to place my order and I went to a booth to sit down and wait. Mind you, it only took about 6 minutes for my order to be ready. I sat down at the booth and was approached by one of the waitresses and she says “maam, I know we are not busy, but we reserve these booths for paying customers.” She then asked me to move and sit in a chair by the windows. ( I believe this is because of racial issues. No one else had to move.) I was completely embarrassed and so angry. I will NEVER order from this Waffle House again, nor any other.
