Last week, I ordered food to be DELIVERED to my home for lunch. I had a very bad experience. I hope this post may prevent other customers from heartache, inconvenience and harm.
In a nutshell:
The food was packaged so poorly, it dripped on my staircase and floor. This created more work for me as I had to clean-up the mess.
The Mapo Tofu and Twice Cooked Pork was so hot when it was placed in the styrofoam container that there were large holes in the bottom of the styrofoam.
I didnât like that I had to throw these items out but it was a mess and any chance of eating evaporated styrofoam was not my liking. The choice of the owner (Tian Guo) to use styrofoam was not wise. Please see pictures.
I was missing two items from my order that the restaurant did not care to replace.
I spoke to a staff member (a man named Jordan) who told me that I would NOT be charged the $50 plus for my order gone wrong. That was NOT honored because I was definitely charged for the entire meal.
Poor customer service.
After speaking to Jordan, I was told to send the pictures of the bad styrofoam to the owner. I did so but still believe the owner should have called me. Further, after receiving my pictures and small notes via text the owner ignored my requests to get my $ back. Mr. Guo chose to ignore my communication.
I had been working for 8 days straight. I was tired and hungry. Since I didnât want to cook, I thought to let âTaste of Sichuanâ cook for me. Obviously, I have big regrets now.
Please donât eat here. They donât care about you, donât send the correct food, will cause you inconvenience, may harm you with evaporating styrofoam and choose NOT to honor your right as a customer to be credited for a very bad experience and...
Read moreOrdered food. Said itâd take about 45-60 mins. About 55 mins I called to obtain an eta so I could prepare for it. I was told the order had left 30 mins ago. I was immediately concerned that the food would be cold and soggy (it was battered tofu, it does not keep well). I expressed that to the lady on the phone. She said she would call the driver and call us back. 20 mins pass and no call back. I call back and she says the driver is close. 15 mins later I call because the driver is still not here and she says that 15 mins ago he was 2 mins away and she was confused and would call him. At this point I tell her I want a refund because the food will be cold and soggy. She said she would tell the driver to give me a discount. About 10 mins go by when I call again. She says she will call him yet again and call back but now heâs finally at the door. Somehow I answer politely. I notice that the driver had the audacity to give himself a 7 dollar tip. I chose to swallow this pill for the sake of being civil. I get the food to the table and open it. Itâs not hot, itâs not warm, Hell, itâs not even lukewarm. I immediately call back about the situation and express that I would like a refund and that I also received no discount and that he gave himself a 7dollar tip. At this point itâs damn near 9 and the driver is knocking on my door again wanting the food back. So not only did my family wait for 2 hrs, the food was cold, and we were supposed to return the food and order somewhere else? They ended up making the food again (which was pointless) and he still took another hour to deliver it. AFTER she promised it would be 20 mins đ...
Now guys- Iâve actually eaten here a lot but this is the worst service Iâve ever...
Read moreTo quote Roosevelt "Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort...". Once I determined I needed to pay Taste of Sichuan a visit my appetite would not be satisfied until I did. After placing my order online I decided to call to see when it would be ready for pickup. Twice I called, no answer. Imagining a bustling kitchen and staff I decided to head there residing to wait out the order in their lobby. To my dismay they were closed for cleaning. Attempts were made that day to remedy my cravings, however I was ultimately left wanting. Two days later I called in and someone answered; on my way to satisfaction. Restaurants can be known for their expert execution of a certain dish, a bargin happy hour, or an entertaining atmosphere. What I love about Taste of Sichuan comes down to three items: szechuan wonton, egg flower soup, and chong qing hot chicken. Not only is the szechuan wanton's amazing garlic infused red chili oil giving that much more flavor to the wontons it is also paired extremely well when added to the egg flower soup. Last but certainly not least, chin qing hot chicken, or as I refer to them as, spicy af popcorn chicken. The heat and flavor is unmatched and this dish fares quite well when devoured out of the take-home container after the fervor of the meal has worn off hours later. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating, I appreciate the hard work the single waitress exuded while balancing a diverse group of patrons. I recommend visting the restaurant for an...
