I would like to post about my recent visit and interaction I had at this place of business. It is as follows: On Friday, 02.09.2024. I visited this restaurant at their recent new location they recently opened near where I reside ( Thomaston Rd location down from Publix store behind Taco Bell on Thomaston Rd in Macon, GA) - this was my first time visiting their new location. When I arrived, I was greeted very nice and professional by their host who was very helpful and I placed my order to go with the manager named Luis. During my visit, Luis was absolutely remarkable to me, he was very articulate, he went beyond the call of duty during my visit he exemplified in my personal and professional opinion superb customer service that is very hard to come by these days, he was patient, very informative, extremely knowledgeable and one of the kindest and most patient people I've met - all of this was my experience during my first visit. Luis made recommendations, provided his suggestions to me. I was made to feel like family. I highly recommend this restaurant. And I will say, Luis has surpassed them all! It is because of my interaction with him is why I plan on visiting this restaurant more often. And they sell desserts that are all homemade by Luis' aunt and I recently purchased one and it was absolutely amazing! Fresh and homemade. To Luis: May Your employer acknowledge your service and reward You beyond your comprehension. Keep up the superb work! Thanks for being so kind and helpful to me during my visit. I ordered the veggie burrito with guacamole, their food is fresh,...
Read moreFANTASTIC food! I can’t remember having Mexican food that tasted ANY better! Good service. Good value. I can easily recommend this place!!!👍🏻🤩
FOOD: Chips and salsa were a great starter. The salsa is pretty spicy, but GREAT flavor! Thin chips (which I love), we’re served warm and fresh! I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga and as you can see from the pics, was a plate right out of a menu photo. It was super fresh and the shredded chicken was super tender.👌🏻(Some shredded chicken used at restaurants gets “rubbery,” but this was great!) Be sure to ask for the jalapeño sauce, which was spicy, but VERY flavorful. 😋 My spouse had the Beef Taco Salad, and she said it was great!
SERVICE: Our waiter was on point, even tough the small place was packed! He was very attentive to everything. 👌🏻🌟
OTHER: The restaurant is fairly small and when we were there, it was packed, so it was a little on the loud side, but tolerable. The food was very reasonably priced, so I felt it was a good value for the experience. The food also sat well on our stomachs (if that makes sense). NO exit stage left, immediately after 🚽🧨, so that HAS to be a good sign! 😳🤣😉
OVERALL: If it were closer to our home, I would say that we had found our new Mexican restaurant of choice. If you are in Macon, GA, don’t hesitate to...

Guitarras is a Mexican restaurant that feels like a little pocket of sunshine. The space bursts with color—bright tiles, hanging papel picado, and the inviting scent of grilled corn drifting through the air. From the moment you sit down, you’re greeted with a basket of warm tortilla chips and a salsa trio that ranges from mild and tangy to “are you sure you want to do this?” hot.
I started with their street-style elote: charred corn slathered in creamy mayo, cotija cheese, chili powder, and a squeeze of lime. It was messy, glorious, and absolutely worth the napkin situation. For my main dish, I went with the carne asada tacos. The beef was smoky, tender, and paired perfectly with fresh cilantro, onions, and a hint of lime. The tortillas—clearly made in-house—were soft, pillowy, and had just the right chew.
The service was fast but never rushed, and the staff had that easy warmth that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. I finished with churros dipped in thick, spiced chocolate sauce, which was basically dessert heaven.
Casa de Sol delivers authentic flavors, a lively atmosphere, and a whole lot of heart. I’m already...
