Nu-Way Weiners — Restaurant in Macon

I wish I could give a negative score. On March 13, 2025 we went to New Way on Emery Hwy, Macon, Ga around 5:30 pm. We ordered and paid for our food. The guy who comes in behind us didn’t pay for his food one of the workers said put it on his tab. One female worker was sitting down eating from another restaurant and then another one walked in with from food from somewhere else. She proceeded to eat the food on the counter where the customers pick up their food. She split what she was eating with another two workers who went to break and eat their food. The guy behind the register walked outside talking to some people in the parking lot. Now there is three eating and one outside. A girl comes in wearing a Krystal shirt and goes behind the counter after calling out for someone there. She tells them what she wants to eat and says I promise I won’t be back today. They sit her food upfront and she didn’t pay. Another guy comes in and was hugging her, he orders they sit his food in front of the register and he doesn’t pay either. The girl from the Krystal goes to the cooking area a couple of times. One employee from the cooking area walks to the register to show the last guy something apparently she was selling and he replied he would hit her up later. The guy working in the window stated their needs to be a cashier up front the ones sitting down in the restaurant eating said they were all on break that the cashier was outside. My husband after hearing all the cussing and loud talking left. As I finished and left there was a car outside the door with loud music and another female employee dancing around the car with them. It was a nightmare!...

Personally have been eating at this location since the early 1980s. My grandfather Marion started taking me here when I was a small child. Not only does this location have nostalgic meaning for me, but the food has been consistent for more than 40 years of my life. That’s saying a hell of a lot. I cannot go to any other restaurant and receive the same quality and taste that Nu-Way has been offering for decades. The menu here is super simple, you want a hamburger or a hotdog, you want it with chili or plain. Yes, they offer egg salad and a few other sandwiches, but those who know come here for the chili dogs. Those who are diehard fans, know to come on Monday and Tuesday for the three dog special. Whether you’re a longtime resident of Macon or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in for a bite. They have some of the best sweet tea in middle Georgia and better french fries than 90% of the places I’ve eaten around town. There is no substitute, and their slogan is true, “I’d go along way for a Nu-Way” because I drive all the way from Milledgeville for chili dogs and it’s...

the hot dogs was good in favor but the bun was soggy and wet which is not good I like The toasted bun and they fall short of that. Maybe because it was almost closing time that's why they fall short. I will come back and give it a try sometime soon hopefully I can change my view by then because this establishment do have potential. My daughter was only able to get two hot dogs one for me and one for herself they ran out.

Update I went back this morning with my daughter the Hot Dogs this morning was delicious favor was in every bit the only thing I wish they would improve on the bun being toasted and not soggy. It's a preference don't like a soggy buns in my opinion. I think if they find a different way to wrap the hot dog then the bun probably wouldn't be soggy. I've been here three years in Macon came from Savannah Georgia originally from Albany Georgia, and this place reminds me of my hometown hot dog place. The answer is will I return?? Yes, this the only place in Macon that the hot dogs taste good, with that being said...
