Wendy's — Restaurant in Madison Heights

The service here is beyond unacceptable.

I haven’t returned to this restaurant in over a year because of the treatment I received last time, and after tonight, I’m reminded exactly why. The night manager and staff are shockingly disrespectful and downright rude.

I get it—mistakes happen. But when we pointed out that our order was missing a drink and a Frosty (which we paid for and had proof of on the receipt), we were met with instant hostility. Why? It was a simple fix, yet it turned into a confrontation for no reason.

Rather than apologize or correct the issue, the staff chose to escalate things. They acted like we were lying or inconveniencing them. It was bizarre and incredibly uncomfortable—especially in front of my teenage daughter. I’m trying to teach her respect, kindness, and basic manners. And yet here we are, dealing with customer service workers who are rude, confrontational, and completely lacking in professionalism.

Kindness is FREE. Maybe that’s a concept foreign to this place.

To the Owner: Honestly, I would seriously reconsider the staff you’ve hired. The culture here is clearly toxic. It started with the employee at the window, and then the manager jumped in—for absolutely no reason. When your manager behaves this way, it sets the tone for the entire team. Very rude customer service, I asked for a senior drink and they complied. I cannot give them a favorable review. I took three spoons, three knives and three forks and some napkins, while waiting to order. The prices are through the roof, I asked a woman if she could do a coupon for me. I had left my coupons at home unfortunately. She then replied "No, Are going to order or what and stop stealing are plasticware." I was shocked. She then went and talked about me for at least 10min. all the while other people were waiting in line. Everyone, including me could hear her!!!! She then turned to me and said "You have to leave our store now" Mind you I have only eaten there one time before with my 12 year old daughter. She said these in front of a full Lobby of people. Not only was I embarrassed and appalled. I never got to order. Prices are on the high side for a Wendy's anyway. I have never been talked down to at any fast food restaurant. This Wendy's needs to retrain their staff on customer service and the customer needs to be treated with dignity. My one regret was I forgot to get her name. P.S. **Raw Chicken: Been to this location (Dequindre Rd Madison Heights, MI) about 10 times during the day shift and had no issue. Day staff is pretty friendly. It's the one time I went at night that was a miserable experience. Manager Latasha has a bad attitude and rude. She was having customers pull ahead into the parking spaces to avoid the drive-thru timer and then bring your order out 20 minutes later. Got my food finally and had to eat in my car while driving back to work because my lunch break was already used up waiting. Chicken sandwich was soggy pink and raw in the middle. Almost threw up. My Dave's double was cold dried out with a rock hard bun, like it had been sitting in a bin for several hours. Then the next night I went there to try and get refund and she would only give partial refund because I ate the fries even though I gave her the bag with three sandwiches back because I obviously didn't eat it. Couldn't bear to give me the extra $2 for my inconvenience. Eventually somebody will get sick and this place will be sued.
