A couple times a month I drive from Tecumseh to the Adrian Panera to relax and enjoy their food and service. Unfortunately, service has slipped significantly; I don't plan to return anytime soon. First, the 99 cent dessert option with meals has gone away (it is now just a 99 cent cookie option--can't choose other desserts). I don't know whether this is a local or company-wise decision, but it is one that will ultimately lose loyal customers in an effort to save a few pennies. Second, while the staff is usually warm and welcoming--this staff member/assistant trainer--was not as friendly and customer focused as is the Panera standard. She didn't welcome me to Panera, apologize for the inconvenience of the policy change, or ask me what I would like with my sandwich. Nor did she thank me for the purchase. Third, when I asked if I had a Panera reward coming--she told me the system was down. Fourth, one of the reasons I go to Panera, is they always list the time that the coffee was brought out on their coffee pots, so customers will know if it is fresh. This is the second time in a row there were no times posted on the coffee pots. Finally, the customer tables are usually clean--but mine was not. I had to clean off my table before sitting down. As a former quality VP in another industry, this particular location does not, in my personal opinion, seem to be offering the high level of quality that it once did. The almond chicken salad sandwich was...

Although Panera is a large chain its often run and employed by younger adults. For most of these individuals it is their first job, learning their first professional skill set. Their introduction to costumer service; food industry, cashier, prep etc. These are not Harvard graduates. They did not recently leave a prestigious class in Paris and land a internship at Panera. They did not spend 4 years learning the in's and out's of business management. These are your neighbors son's & daughters. Your grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews. Some are adults who love to serve their community and stick around to teach our children the important values in a first job. While every business always has room for improvement, no business is perfect. If you choose to dine out, you also choose to possibly be a teachable moment. Progress over perfection. A little patience and understanding while remembering how many mistakes you yourself made at that time in your life will go a long way.
To the team at Adrian, keep working hard. Your value, your teamwork, your hardwork and for some your first work is not unnoticed. And.... keep learning, no matter...

They made a mistake on my order, and then when fixing it, they misunderstood and it ended up in the same mistake. The apologized profusely and were extremely polite. I have no issues with mistakes once in a while, we're all human. What I can't stand is when someone make's a mistake and acts like YOU'RE the problem for asking to get your money's worth. McDonald's and Taco Bell, both south locations, get downright angry when they mess up your food (for the 87th time). The food... OMGosh the food... just started eating it and I'm hooked. Combine that with polite and caring employees and you can just help yourself to my wallet. Also, it does seem pricey for some items, but some things can't even be fished in one sitting. So really you're getting two meals. I don't like GMOs and such and my daughter said their food is healthy and I tried it. I haven't looked into their sourcing yet, but my daughter said they're organic or something of the sort. I hope she's not wrong because I'll have to eat that Avocado Chicken Melt thing until I die. I might have the name wrong but if you say that they'll know what you mean. Then there's the mac and...
