Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Madison

I don’t normally do reviews on places but tonight was one for the books. I come in to the local Applebee’s around 9:30 after working 16 hours today. I had my mind set on the all you can eat ribs since it’s back for a limited time. I usually come on some weekdays but mostly weekends when my favorite bartender (Christian) is there. My sister and I both sit at the bar and got our drinks. I order my all you can eat ribs and said I haven’t eaten all day to my sister but I’m positive the bartender heard me say it also. We get our food kind of quick probably less than 10 minutes. Everything was good and fresh on the first round. That’s literally the only reason the food gets a 4 star from me. I ask for a reorder about 10 minutes after I finished my first round. This is where everything took a turn for the worst. I start looking around like ok it’s been 10 minutes now where’s my food? I literally waited almost 25 minutes for this reorder to show up and only receive ONE rib and a boatload of fries. ONE rib bro? Seriously?! That right there is a sure fire way to piss me off because if I’m just starting an all you can eat anything I’m expecting literally as much as I can eat on a reorder. I literally ask my sister who is this for? I eat that single rib in less than 3 minutes because I literally waited all day to get what I’ve been wanting. I ask for another reorder and I receive this one in like 10 minutes. At this point it was right at 10:30. They brought two ribs out when I complained that I’m here for the all you can eat not an all you can snack on. I finish those ribs and ask for another reorder and the bartender (think her name was Tammy) tells me the kitchen is closing down and they aren’t taking any more orders. I said I am literally still hungry and she asks why didn’t yall come earlier. That’s not professional at all for you to say that to me. You don’t know me like that! There’s a way you’re supposed to talk to customers and I just feel like the pace of the kitchen was terrible. How do you get the first plate out in 10 minutes (with 3 ribs on it) then the next one out in 25 minutes? Just overall terrible across the board. Oh yes by the way the kitchen staff was out of there 30 minutes before they closed the store so they already had their minds set up that they weren’t going to do any more cooking after my last two ribs came out. This had to have been the worst experience I’ve ever had at ANY restaurant I’ve been to. I come here too much to be treated like this. Gotta do better all around with the...

I haven't eaten at Applebee's in a long time, but now I know why. The service is still horrible. It took the server 15 min to come greet us and ask us for our drinks. She took the drink and food order and it was almost another 20 min before she brought the drinks back. I wasn't really worried about the food coming quick because it was groups in there, so I knew it would be a minute. But the lady brought the food to the table and never returned. Didn't ask if we needed refills or anything. I looked up and she is sitting 2 tables down from me. The next time she came to the table, she handed me a check and said you need to go boxes? I asked her were they not serving desserts anymore? My daughter wanted a dessert. She asked me if I wanted the dessert to go as if she was rushing me out of the restaurant. I always tip big every where I go because I know how it is to be a server. But I tipped her the minimum because she needed to slow down and make sure her customers were good. She never even came back to get the money until I got up to walk out and left it on the table and she grabbed it and dropped half of it and I had to tell her that she dropped the money I was paying her. Even the restroom was nasty. Wonder if they are under new management because I don't remember it being this bad and majority of the workers were either sitting in the front on their phones or leaning against something talking...

Upon entering the vibe was off but the hostess was courteous and prompt. Normally they’d have some music playing and the TVs on but this was not the case here. It was quite awkward. After being seated, it took about 10 minutes for us to be greeted by our server. Our server (Michael) walked up and asked what can I get you to drink. Not hi, not welcome to Applebees, nothing. Immediately I was disappointed. Our drinks came shortly afterwards and we placed our order. For about 45 minutes, we waited on our meal before I became flustered and asked for a ticket for the drinks so I could leave. In those long 45 minutes (sitting in a really quiet restaurant where you could hear the cooks laughing and playing in the back) my server didn’t come back one time to see if we were fine or needed anything. About 5 minutes after asking for my ticket, the server shows up and places our meals on the table. He didn’t ask any questions, didn’t make any statements, nothing. Just sat the food down and walked off. There was a family of a different ethnicity behind us in which he was the server and their experience seemed very different from ours but that’s neither here nor there. The food was actually good and we enjoyed our food however, I’d never return to this location. It was very clear that I was not welcomed. I only know the servers name because it was on my ticket.
