Yesterday was my first visit to the Capital Theatre, and I've lived in Madison and its surrounding areas since 98. The Theatre's interiors were something to behold, just as Overture Hall is; they're part of the same Performing Arts Center... Had a fantastic time watching a silent film as part of their Duck Soup Cinema series. Included silent film, 'Her Wild Oat' with non-stop, live musical accompaniment by amazing organist Jelani Eddington and some pre show vaudeville type entertainment as well as the Blue Skies Saxophone Ensemble. The theater was historically beautiful, made you feel like you were in the early 1900s or something, roomy and comfortable seats.
