Great place for a quick fix when you want that American standard of a hamburger and fries, but are sick and tired of McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's versions. Five Guys is SEVERAL steps above them. They're proud of the fact that they make their french fries in house, out of the potatoes you can see stacked in their big bags. Also, that they use pure peanut oil to do it. I don't know if that poses an allergy problem for some folks, but I can handle peanuts, and know how peanut oil is a good choice for deep frying - it has a very high smoke temperature. The burgers are really juicy and NICELY cooked! It is so nice to feel like your burger was home-made, not taken out of box of burger slabs frozen at some remote processing plant, which is also the way most french fries are probably prepped at the typical fast restaurant. The staff are friendly, and greeted us the moment we walked in. The men's bathroom was as clean as could be, the faucet, paper towels, and lights are motion activated, but you've got to push a knob to get some of the foamy soap that did a great job washing off the grease from my fries, and left my hands feeling especially clean. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, they're more expensive, but you cannot expect to pay a McDonalds price for a real hamburger.
I notice someone's commented on the # of employees in the place; we went there at about 11:45 on a weekday, there were three employees, the lunch crowd came in, and the line was never more than...
Read moreFor a burger place, the burgers are Meh. They basically have burgers, fries and hotdogs (I saw nobody order a hotdog but they are on the menu). They have a lot of toppings to choose from (condiments) but only American cheese. The "little" burger is a single, the regular is a double. Place is pricey, regular burger, fries and soda was $15. It is very loud in there. They are one of those places that try to act like a New York deli where they yell orders from the cash register and between the different stations (like "Fries on the table" instead of just "Fries up"). The acoustics are basically concrete walls so it is loud. Service was really slow, which I do not understand. There were not many in the place, but it took about 10 minutes to get their basic menu out. I think they are constantly waiting on fries, they would call 3-4 orders up at one time. The burger as tasty, nothing special, just basic beef cooked on a flat grill. The bun was also basic, nothing special. The fries are fresh-cut and cooked in peanut oil. Good, but nothing spectacular (e.g., steak escape fries blow them away). All in all; there are several local bars with better burgers, about the same speed but for about 40% less that will get my...
Read moreIf I could give Zero stars, I would! Five Guys, store located at 2253 Zeier Road has really poor management...period! My son applied for a job there, did the interview, was 'hired' on the spot and the manager told/scheduled my son to come back on a different day to do paperwork. A few days later, my son showed up for his scheduled time to start the paperwork, he was a little early, so he quietly sat down at a table after being acknowledged by the manager. After waiting 20 minutes, this manager just told my son to go home because he was too "busy or something." This manager/supervisor never called my son to reschedule, in fact, my son called him several time/left messages, but he never called back. Man! What kind of management is this? My son wasted his time waiting and driving there, technically my son should get pay for waiting there and driving 30 minutes there. My family will never eat there or even drive by this Five Guys Store! People out there, don't apply there and don't work for this store!! Bad...
