La Placita — Restaurant in Madison

If you come to this place, be prepared. Prepared to wait. To wait to be seated, to wait to be served, to wait for your food, to wait for your bill, carry out boxes, etc. I believe I only saw 3 employees as people kept trickling in. No actual wait like most restaurants. Fidel, the waiter, does the job of at least 3 people. He's the waiter, the busser, the carryout person, and the cashier. For all I know he's also the dishwasher. The food is just okay. Not particularly good or bad just average. I presented a SaveAround coupon and was told by Fidel, that the owner said not to accept them any longer eventough it doesn't expire until 12/2022 and they made the deal to honor it with SaveAround. Not me. When I asked to speak with the owner to discuss the matter, Fidel reluctantly agreed to accept it. So, if you have one, USE IT. I would have filed a complaint with the BBB had it not been accepted. Not sure if I'll return, especially if they're gonna reneg on their coupon...

Since changing owners, this restaurant has become our go to. Everything we’ve had has been delicious. We really love that they use fresh herbs and degrease their ground beef dishes. It has become a regular for us. The pictures are of L5 with beef taco & tostada & a chicken enchilada with green sauce. Their green sauce is different than any I’ve found anywhere else. Its delicious! The other picture is the Lunch Burrito Supreme. It was stuffed full of deliciousness and topped by guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, tomato amd cheese. It also came with rice and beans. We always drink water, so our total before tip was under $22! We brought home as much as we ate and the leftovers are just as good warmed up. We have also had the lunch chile relleno and it is wonderful also! We are so happy this restaurant is so good! It the only Mexican restaurant open on Sunday in Madison...

Located on a strip mall I gave this place a try after looking at the reviews so we decided to go for it before getting back on the road. The place wasn't packed away all on a Friday afternoon, it had a total of six customers upon arrival. It took ten minutes to get our beverages. There was only one server so I tried to give the benefit of the doubt but bad service is bad service and I couldn't be forgiving for that. We almost walked out but my daughter was hungry and we weren't familiar with the area plus we've already wasted thirty minutes to even place an order. Once the order was placed I can state the food arrived hot but in all honesty it was nothing to write home about. After receiving such wonderful service at other places this was disappointing.
