I saw pita one night and decided it was time to give Mediterranean a glorified shot. My family being commonly around this type of food set up a hard to please stage.
We ordered the sample dips with pita after a wonderful recommendation on what would give me a good shot at a few of them. I had feta dip, garlic and classic hummus. The pita was exceptionally soft and fluffy and the dips freshly garnished with all three setting up for a great main dish. I was caught off guard by the young man at the store asking me if I want three lids to take the rest of the dip home. I immediately felt a five star coming on.
The bathrooms were spotless. The layout of utensils is spaced out to avoid a mess. This store has everything in order. Finally I got my main dish pretty quickly. The signature gyro with fries and the chicken gyro. The chicken is clearly marinaded with a soaked line cooked well into it with a soft, burst of flavor when bitten into. The wraps soft like the pita and the filling just right. My only issue was the quantity of sauce but it was nearly perfect not to make the entire meal a disastrous mess.
I recommend this store not only as a heavy critic of service stores and food but as a Mediterranean myself that grew up with this food. Price point is a little up but in comparison to similar stores acceptable for what you get.
Enjoy it. Will...
Read moreHad a really good lunch at Pita today. From the many choices offered, I went with the falafel platter and was not disappointed. I almost went with some shawarma, after watching the gentleman behind the counter take thinly sliced pieces of meat, off the roasted lamb with a very cool apparatus but, I'm always down to try falafel from a place I've never been. The onions in the toppings on the falafel were particularly tasty, along with the warm and soft pita. I've had falafel at places that dot the country. This was one of the best. They have a good list of sides, I opted for salad and rice. I'm going back for another meal and when I do, I'm going to try the baklava cheese cake. As a non resident, finding good places to eat on the road that are affordable, while offering great tasting and nutritional food, is not always easy to accomplish. A co-worker and I walked in at around 1245p, there were seats available at a couple of the two tops and 6 tops. It was good to see other patrons eating a busy take out service and curbside pickup....
Read moreI'm so glad this place actually came. I've been excited about this place since the sign was placed early last year, before the pandemic, and they did not disappoint. The place is very clean. Nice, laid back modern design. The staff was very friendly and my order came out very quickly.
I got the beef gyro. A little disappointed that there was no lamb but maybe that'll be something in the future. The flavor is all there. Great tzatziki sause and fresh tasting veggies. The fries were perfect. They put a seasoning on them that's so good. I ate them all despite being really full. Fountain drink was also good.
Anyone who knows me, knows that Papa Gyros reigns supreme but I work in Madison. This is a great Madison option for a delicious gyro. They have a $6 Gyro and side on Mondays so you better believe I'll be spending more monday lunches here. (Who doesn't love a good deal.)
I can't wait to come back and support...
