We went here for breakfast for my husband's birthday. Oh, where to start? The food? The drinks? The service? Ugh. Let's start with beverages. I ordered hot tea, and my husband ordered coffee. The waitress (a thin older woman with a pixie cut) said to my husband, "Would you like cream or sugar?" He declined, and she whirled around and walked away as I said, "I would like sugar." She brought the drinks, and asked if we were ready to order. My tea bag was already in the mug of hot water over-steeping, and there was no spoon with which to fish it out. I told her that I needed sugar and a spoon before I could order. She brought the sugar and a spoon. There was nowhere to lay the wet teabag... no saucer. She was not off to a good start. Then, our food came. My husband had ordered an omelet and home fries. (They were out of the corned beef hash, even though we were there early in the morning and the place was empty.) He was served hashbrowns instead of home fries, and the omelet clearly didn't have the eggs mixed well at all and it was thin. Large patches of egg whites made it look unappealing. I ordered a half portion of biscuits and gravy, eggs over easy, and bacon. The bacon was overcooked and crumbly, the eggs were fine, and the gravy was disgusting. It was oily and SWEET? Thinking I must be losing my mind, I asked my husband to taste it. He made a face, and concurred that it was sweet and nasty. The waitress never did come back to ask if the food was okay. Never came to see if I needed more hot water for tea. She did ask my husband if he wanted more coffee when she brought the food.
The dining room was freezing! The decor was bland (which doesn't really stop me from enjoying a good meal), and the tables were extremely far apart. So if you like private conversations (I do) that part works. It would be be described as "stark." There's definitely no coziness to the place, which disappointed me as I tend to like for a breakfast meal, especially.
When checking out at the register, my husband was asked how everything was. He related that the meal as just okay and that the gravy was "nasty." He wasn't offered so much as an apology, let alone a refund for the inedible gravy. All the cashier said was, "Really?"
We will definitely not be returning, or as my husband put it, "This is definitely a one and done." I wish it had been a...
Read moreI cannot complain about the food. The over all experience was horrible. It is seat yourself but after sitting for 10 minutes with no menu it begins to feel awkward. A customer at another tabel actually provied us with a menu since they we done looking at it. We finally got our drinks and then waited for roughly 30 min for our food. We didn't order a massive amount of food either, just an omelet with home fries, 2 pancakes, 6 slices of bacon. Other customers were complaining as well. They were served food with no utensils. They ended up having to yell across the place to get somone to bring them utensils so they could eat...lol. The rude women that was working walked over with a handful of forks and just tossed them on the table. These forks were not in a napkin or anything. She just bare handed them and tossed them on the table. She walked beside out table and did the same thing. So we eat and go to pay. I'm standing there for well over 5 minutes waiting to pay for my food. There is also another group of 2 in front of me waiting to pay and a second guy has made his way up to pay at this point. I could see they knew we were all clearly standing there the employees kept making eye contact with us. Finally a women walks over. She cashes out the person in front. I think I'm next. Nope. She just walks off and makes me wait longer. When she comes back she didn't say anything to me except the total. I politely hand her my card. She aggressively grabs the card, runs it, then slams it on the counter and gets what appears to be gravy on my credit card. Then ripped the recipt out of the machine and slammed it on the counter. Then grabbed a pen and slammed it also. I'm so confused at this point because I didn't even speak to this women. She was not my waitress or anything. It was very difficult to stay calm during this whole ordeal. I really hope the women is not allowed to act that way towards customers all the time. It will be hard for me to...
Read moreIf you're considering eating here, don't. Walked in with two others, only 4 tables in the entire restaurant, two big tables with anywhere from 6-8 people at each, and a then two two-tops, all of whom had already ordered food. We sat and waited because there seemed to be only one waitress working, and having been in the industry a while myself, I understand that being alone can be daunting, but sitting for nearly 30 mins without even being acknowledged is unacceptable. The restaurant was filthy, most empty tables had food, beverages, salt, condiments all over them, no one even bothered to buss anything. If you want to succeed as a small business, you need to adhere to some stronger standards, and if you are short staffed, owners/managers need to step up and help out. I have eaten here before for a take out order, which took forever to get out, as well, but at least the food quality is halfway decent. We ended up going to Bob Evans, at least we didn't wait 30 mins to be acknowledged that...
