If you enjoy seafood but want to try spicing things up a little, this is the place. AND DO NOT PASS ON THE CHINESE DONUTS
I started myself off with Chinese fried chicken wings. They came out quick. They had very good flavor, but they were a little on the small side. Thankfully they give you 8.
I ordered a seafood combo with shrimp, crab legs, and crawfish in Cajun seasoning. I was brought out a giant inflated bag of the meat, plus eggs, potatoes, and carrots. I enjoyed every bit of it. There isn't a thing on that plate I would change. It was delicious! Well seasoned. Plenty of veggies. My mouth is watering just thinking back to it. It was awesome. However, do not expect to be in and out of the place very quick. Take your time enjoying the seafood. It's tricky to eat, but that's part of the fun
For a dessert I had to try those Chinese fried donuts. I realized how full I was once they actually got to me and I was worried I wouldn't enjoy them as much. But boy oh boy did I enjoy them. Airy, crispy, and covered in crystal sugar. Best Chinese fried donuts I have had in this city yet
The waiters and waitresses were very friendly. They didn't forget about you one bit. I asked for the donuts to be out in about 10 minutes because I was enjoying my seafood. And guess what. They were right there in 10 minutes!
The only thing that was holding me back from giving this a 5 star was the atmosphere. If you don't care about atmosphere though, then consider this review a 5 star. Somewhat tacky decorations on the support posts of the building. Massive crawfish and crab sculptures. There were a couple cute posters on the walls. It was just kind of boring to wait in if that makes any sense. It's more of a Chinese and southern US fusion restaurant
Would I come back?
If I ever have a craving for seafood, absolutely. Heck. I would come back just for the...
Read moreThe food is delicious and there are lots of options on the menu. We get the option E which is a bag of crab boil. It is $54 and comes with sliced sausage, potatoes, 4 pieces of corn, 2 boiled eggs, 2-3 snow crab leg sections/bundles, and shell on shrimp that are good sized! You get to choose from a variety of sauces to have added in the bag and also on the side. I recommend the medium hot for the bag and a side of hot on the side to dip. This is advertised as a meal for two, however, we fed two adults, a teen (16), and a child (9) with this and had some left over. Sometimes we add extra boiled eggs, crab, or fish cakes to the boil and it is delicious. There are other types of crab and add ins as well. There are bibs and gloves on the tables for those who dont want to get dirty but I recommend using your hands ungloved. There is a small bucket on the table for shells and scraps which is nice to not have it piling up...
Read moreNever had food like this before as I've never been down south but for being new to it, I was really impressed.
First off, their place is super clean and spacious. Not crammed in at all.
The food I think was great. I love seafood and everything that comes with it and it being boiled in garlic butter, if man the smell I could have just drank it 🤣 I got the headless shrimp and the skin is on it so you'll have to peel it off yourself which I didn't mind, was easy enough. The pot stickers were perfect, the butterfly shrimp was perfect. The shrimp sauce was.... Different but I liked it. Was like it was mixed with a sweet n sour sauce.
I'll absolutely be back. I just worry for them because it's in a really bad spot that isn't seen a lot and doesn't get a lot of traffic. It's over by Perkins almost.
I wish them luck for the sake of me wanting to go there...
