Señor Machetes — Restaurant in Madison

My friends and I went to the restaurant yesterday for Cinco de Mayo and unfortunately we did not have a good experience. We were given a small basket of chips and a small dish of salsa that we finished very quickly. She asked if we wanted more once she came back with our drinks, but never brought us any. We started off by ordering margarita's, she didn't ask what size or how we wanted them made. The margarita's we were given were poorly made and did not taste good. We did not finish them. My friends both ordered a chimichanga and I ordered three tacos. The chimichanga's came out with sauce that was curdled on the top and she brought me one taco.. After setting it on the table she stated "oh did you want two or three tacos?" After she had already brought my plate out. I told her I ordered three and she said she would be right back with them. I also asked for sour cream and never got it. I had to go up to the bar and ask her for it again. Once we asked for our checks, she charged me for a margarita pitcher and charged my friends for a large margarita ($9) when the menu stated they were only ($5). After she fixed the receipts and we gave her our debit cards to pay, she brought them back and gave my friend someone else's bill and her card was missing. She had to go back up to the bar and ask for her card. Not a good...

Two friends and I came to this restaurant per recommendation from another friend. While the food was good, we were only at first pleased with the service. When our bills came, we were charged $9 for the small $5 margaritas we ordered. When we let our waitress know, she apologized for giving us the wrong drink menu - and said they now only carried one size. She also explained that she was unable to change the price herself and that only a manager was able to do that. We then asked if anyone was around who could. It seemed like she checked quickly and came back to tell us there was not and showed us the right drink menu and explained again nothing else could be done. This put us in an awkward position, so we still tipped, but felt that we were cheated because we spent more than what was advertised to us. We would have not ordered what we did, had we known the real price was $9. We felt that a manager should have been on duty to change the prices to what was advertised to us or that our waitress should have been able to do so. Also, after this experience I noticed the email given to those who also had Poor experiences under this review section and decided to email instead of leave a review. However, the email address came back as invalid. We will not be recommending this...

Awful. Gross. Super low quality. I work and eat on the square all the time. My pals and I were extremely disappointed with our first (and last) visit. Firstly they brought out complimentary chips and salsa which were so obviously store bought low quality food items. We all legit agreed that they opened up packages from the Grocery store and put them in bowls for us. So gross. They didn’t even get better quality store bought things ! Literally lowest tier. Don’t even get me started on the margaritas…. Sugary Kool aid , with no taste of alcohol whatsoever. Again, obviously a super cheap store bought mix. Tasted like diabetes in a glass. My other pal got sangria which looked like cloudy white wine. Awful. We took a couple sips and bites and got out ASAP, did not finish anything. Will not be back. Ever. Sooooo many better places.
