We just finished eating there, and the best I can say is they are well prepared for COVID and our waitress was very nice and attentive. That's why 2 stars instead of 1. However we went there to get breakfast food seeing as there's a large sign that states "Breakfast Served All Day" it was the sole reason we went. Got seated, ordered drinksl , and then when it came time to order my partner tried to order biscuits and gravy and we were told that there's actually a select menu after 1:30 on for breakfast, which would've been ok, if there was actually genuine breakfast foods on it! It consisted of nothing but ham, bacon, and eggs. No biscuits, no pancakes, no hash browns. It can barely be justifiable as a breakfast selection. I'm sorry but when I see "breakfast served all day," that typically means your breakfast menu is served all day, so we were annoyed and felt kind of duped but decided to stay anyways.
I ordered the club sandwich, my partner ordered the fried flounder sandwich, and we had two drinks. Let me tell you I was floored to see our meal cost $30!!! My partner was annoyed and didn't want to argue them on the price, he's shy, and they didn't have an itemized list but we have to figure it's fees due to COVID that our meal cost almost $10 more than it was worth. They replaced all dishes, silverware, etc. with disposable products, which made sense for the cups but not really for everything else and we obviously paid greatly for it.
So false advertising, and $36 total(tip inc) for two sandwiches, one which had deli cuts I swear they bought at the dollar general up the road, and two drinks in large disposable cups I could've purchased at any gas station for $1.50
Very disappointed and I feel scammed. We will never be back and I suggest you second guess going yourself. Go to Bogart's in Waynesville if you're looking for a good meal and COVID safe option, you'll get better food for...
Read moreFirst time dining here and will be out last!!! Wasn't impressed with the food, our server was nice, the young man that sat us took our drink order and it was about tens minutes before we got our drinks, after I got the attention of a waitress. Our bacon was under cooked, toast was barely toasted, grits was bland, gravy was bland, eggs wasn't cooked to order. The best thing I had was the coffee. The restaurant wasn't the cleanest and needs some TLC, also some of the younger staff was sitting around and they were only one table from us talking loud (in Spanish) and was on their phones. The young man that sat us, never brought our beverages, he went in the kitchen and was talking then went and to washing dishes. We were about to walk out, when a waitress seen me looking around and she asked if we had been served. We said no, just the guy that sat us took our drink order, but never came back. We have been to Maggie Valley several times in the past 3.5 yrs but it was our first time eating breakfast and was really excited about having a really tasty country style breakfast. Boy, were we disappointed, but we didn't complain, wasn't feeling well and just left. But, it's our first and last time eating here. Noticed also the lady sitting the table over from us had under cooked bacon and bread that was barely toasted, she left it on her plate. I also left uncooked bacon on my plate and part of the barely toasted bread. Ate the rest because we were hungry and didn't have time to wait for more food to be cooked, but when we pay hard earned money for food in a restaurant we expect it to be an enjoyable and tasty experience and restaurants should be clean and in...
Read moreMe and my family are Maggie Valley and Cherokee regulars when we travel. We decided on this restaurant based off of the reviews we read. We stopped in for a quick bite for lunch this afternoon with our three children (ages 2, 5, and 11). We were in high hopes for a quick meal that was high in quality and taste. What we got was over an hour wait before our food came, and food that tasted rushed and not home cooked. My 2 year old’s burger was burnt and too overdone for her to even want to eat. She instead ate the French fries and pickles. My cube steak was crunchy, tasteless, and the mashed potatoes that came with it tasted like instant boxed potatoes with packet brown gravy mix thrown on top. The Mac and cheese was also cold and bland. My wife ordered a Philly cheesesteak that was “alright” But her fried okra was soggy. Our waitress was wonderful even though she told us three times that our food would be out next as we watched her bring food to several other tables that were seated after us. We watched as the family next to us waited just as long as we did and the poor little boys burger was wrong and had to be sent back. His father and sister waited for over 20 minutes without touching their food until his burger finally came out... As a family of 5 who travels to the mountains several times a month, we look for “hole in the wall” family owned businesses like this one to rave about. Unfortunately I cannot do that for this restaurant. After eating barely anything that tasted as if it was home cooked, we were then handed a bill of close to $50. We will not be returning EVER again. We would’ve had a better meal at half the cost just by eating at the...
