Located in the former Assi Plaza food court and now named Park and Shop (store). Don’t be deceived by its unassuming facade. Wow wow wow truly gourmet. This place trumps all. The BEST Korean food in Chicago. As a native Korean and avid foodie I hold high standards for Korean cuisine. This joint offers the best favors and uses high quality ingredients of all the places I have been to in the state. The kimchi is homemade, you can tell. It’s so delicious and yet not drenched in salt and sugar, so healthy tasting yet light and flavorful. High quality, authentic, no skimping (generous portions- yay) and even greater prices (what?). My first Korean GOAT SOUP — smells like a goat, it must be goat. No different than goat cheese. When you eat it, it's not so goaty anymore. The smell is scarier than the taste. Paired with interesting Weedy Kimchi (another first). I have never seen that brown condiment with pin dot balls.
OXTAIL SOUP is heavy with garlic. Don't let looks deceive you. Good portion of oxtail meat that pairs well with lightly sweet radish kimchee.
TO GO orders are well packaged that it was still warm an hour after. No side dish...
