This place was one of my favorite sandwich shops in L.A. before the ownership changed. It was a Malibu institution for a great reason: Huge, super flavorful, and unusual sandwiches, with a great old school vibe. We thought we'd try it out last weekend, and spent $46 on two small average-at-best sandwiches. I could spend half that amount at even, say, Ralph's, and get sandwiches just as good. For sandwiches to be that expensive they need to be off-the-hook great, and these definitely were not. The two stars is because it's so overpriced for what we got.

Read moreWe found this place when we were visiting Malibu, it’s very close to the beach and the locals kept raving about it. When you turn into the small market area, it’s on the right. This was the wrong place to do that at! Although the Malibu times kept saying this place needed help, it in fact did not. we arrived to a packed restaurant, hardly found a place to sit. And the food was outrageously overpriced, so I'm thinking they are getting enough money at this place to cover whatever they think they may have lost! Go someplace else...
