The Cupcake Mafia — Restaurant in Manassas

Got a case of 6 cupcakes for $20, and an iced latte from the farmers market in lake ridge yesterday. Most of us were pretty disappointed with them, my brother thought the red velvet was fine. The dark chocolate was also alright. We were unimpressed by the slapdash presentation they all had, and found the cupcakes themselves to be dense and stodgy. The salted caramel doesn't really taste of salted caramel, and the lemon berry was the worst, taste and texture-- I couldn't finish it. For $4 a cupcake, we were just really underwhelmed. We probably would have been happier if we'd bought a mix and pre-made icing from the store. The iced latte I ordered was okay, but I couldn't taste the hazelnut flavor I asked for. Probably also wasn't worth $4.

I have problems with sugar and as such I generally get a gluten free cheesecake for my birthday. My wife knowing this was trying to find a place that did them and did them well. When she placed the order we were hoping it would come out fine as most places won’t work with sugar substitutes. Well this was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had. Rich and creamy and the crust wasn’t purely nuts but had that graham cracker texture to it. If there was any issue with the cake it was that we got it and it wasn’t holding its form very well. I was excited when the food truck came to our apartment complex in the morning for coffee and cupcakes. I was highly disappointed. I bought 6 cupcakes, 1 hot chocolate and a pumpkin spice latte. The cupcakes were borderline frozen and baked into different sizes. The "hot chocolate" was cold and the pumpkin spice latte was disgusting. My kids wouldn't eat the cupcakes or drink the "hot" chocolate. I paid $33 for garbage. I ended up throwing everything away. The fact that they served frozen cupcakes is embarrassing.
