The service here used to be decent (just like the coffee/espresso). Now it is just terrible. For those who don't want to read all the details, here is the general break down: Day 1: Latte without espresso. Day 2: Free beverage missed part of order, resulting in really bad beverage. Day 3: Free beverage (again) = Latte without syrup. Employees here do not seem to be able to grasp the concept of Espresso + Milk + Syrup = Beverage.
Thursday: Went through the drive-thru and ordered a breakfast sandwich and a Grande Skinny Vanilla Latte. Received my beverage and drove to school. I noticed it was far sweeter than normal. Upon arriving at school (40 minutes away) I removed the lid, and realized that they never added my espresso. I had suspected this was the reason, but figured such a popular coffee chain would not be so incompetent as to forget the ONE ingredient everyone goes there for! Called the manager and explained. She apologized very much, and told me to come in later that day, and they would refund my purchase, and give me another beverage on the house.
Friday: My purchase from the day before had given me a free purchase on my SB card. I used this to order a breakfast sandwich and (indulge in) a Venti Triple White Mocha with Caramel drizzle. (Terrible for me, I know! I made a couple of specifications regarding how much syrup, to maintain flavor without being sickeningly sweet.) The beverage I received was (mostly) accurate, except that it did not have the extra shot of espresso. And without that extra shot, even my specifications left it too sweet to drink (I was relying on that extra shot to balance out the syrup). Unfortunately, the drive-thru attendant did not give me my receipt, so I do not know if she never rang it in (hence me not receiving it) or if she charged me for it, but the barrista never added it. By now, I'm extremely frustrated, but I still have the voucher for the 1st drink, so I figured I would give it one more try.
Saturday: I went inside today (figured maybe this would work out better). I ordered a breakfast sandwich (terribly addicting; and they don't ever seem to mess these up!) Venti Triple Vanilla Machiatto. Upon receiving my drink, I immediately left, as I was running slightly behind (not very smart on my end, but I didn't think they would mess up AGAIN, as I made no special requests this time). Alas, I was mistaken. I received a Venti Latte, with no Vanilla whatsoever, however, I did get my espresso this time.
Now, let me say that me going three days in a row is unusual for me. However, I was volunteering working with children that week, and needed all the energy I could get. I had run out of coffee at home (I buy from a local vendor, so I can only go when the Farmer's Market is open), and was looking to get a "quick fix". But on each of those days, the time I went in was roughly the same (7a-9a). I would not have gone the last two times, had the beverages not been free. Be that as it may, all of my beverages ended up being free. But that should not be a reason/excuse for shoddy service. If a company screws up, their (attempted) retribution should not be (almost) just as horrible.
Now, I'm not trying to sound all "First World Problems" pity me, but a company that has built itself on fast, reliable service should certainly be concerned when they mess up orders for the same person three days in a row. The only thing not messed up was the breakfast sandwich, which all they do is unwrap, toast, serve! Glad to see that simplicity is not too difficult. However, do not expect your beverage to be accurate.
I won't say I will never visit another Starbucks again, but I will probably add an extra 10-15 minutes to my commute to visit another coffee shop (not SB) on my route, where I know that I will get reliable service, and...
Read moreI'm a single male that spends a lot of time at all the Starbucks in my area. I can't believe how two faced the partners can be there. Only a few (including Jess and the manager) are worth there salt. The coffee is never made to specs. It's always too strong and tastes like dirty water. My biggest problem is the way the "girls" act in the store. I hear them talk about every customer that comes in there. It's like a big joke to them. Maybe, just maybe they should focus on excelling in the company to be a better partner by knowing the proper amounts of coffee to be brewed. Maybe I would still buy my favorite Latte (venti, Quad shot, 4 pump white mocha, 3 pump toffeenut Latte with no foam) which happens to be a $5+ drink. (not including the tip) But what really got me upset was how they blocked my IP address on the wireless router!!! I have been spending a lot of money in that store lately and spending a lot of time there since it is next to where I am living. I was actually told that they talk about me when I am not there by a young lady that works with them. She just goes along with what they are saying and gives a little laugh, because she has to work with them!!! I don't care what your problem is! Talking about someone that you are paid to be polite too and blocking the IP address of the same person is ridiculous. Starbucks is going down the tubes very quickly and I can honestly say this is the reason why. You are not entitled to talk about your customers over the headsets and to other customers slandering them. If it were LEGAL I would record them doing this and post it to my followers on YouTube. All 10,000+ of them. I think it's time to go back to being a real "Employee" and not a "Partner". You aren't a partner of anything! Do your freaking jobs and shut your mouths! Worst location around! And since I know everyone at every store in the area... I will be staying away from all of them once I hit send on this due to I would not be surprised one bit if they did something to my coffee. Oh and the tall black "girl" not only charged me $2 for a coffee refill (not knowing that I was a shift leader for Starbucks in the past) she didn't even put it in the...
