Some heads-up would be great…
What My friend and I were super excited to try Nepalese food. We ordered a number of appetizers… but was disappointed that the server didn’t warn us that the majority of the appetizers were cold… the chicken chwela was cold and high was definitely not expected. Kerau Ko Archar was also cold.. it probably would have been good with some warm hot rice. The wai wai sadeko was the biggest surprise.. I thought it was noodles but it was not at all, it is like noodle crisp (chips) mixed into a salad. We also ordered the mix momo for the intentions to share… with 4 being meat and 4 vegetables and we also did a chili flavor so it was all tossed and turned and so couldn’t identify which is which. Also I picked it to be in chili which I didn’t know it would be fried and then heavily tossed in a chili sauce, it was very flavorful but I wasn’t prepared. Overall I think there could be more appreciation for the food if we were prepared. You’ve been warned
Environment This was in a strip building. Inside there are quite a number of seats available.
Niceness of the staff The server was nice but I wish they were more interactive in terms of introducing the food especially if I am new to the foods. Would also have been helpful if they were aware that we were sharing the dish and helped us identify the food. They did they job I suppose by taking the orders and fulfilling it but failed on the introduction.
Dollar The appetizers were very reasonable.
Yes? Not local to the area. I would prepare and let my friends know about this place but not necessary...
Read moreSo I have been here like at least a couple hundred times, I've eaten probably half the menu, and I've had the buffet a couple times. I don't usually review places so I figure writing a review I should make sure I really get to know the place before writing a review. Kathmandu spice is one of the most consistent and best places to get food in New Hampshire in my opinion. I will often find myself choosing this place over fine dining options and cheaper alternatives as the food is absolutely terrific. Every person I have taken with me has loved this place and their food never fails to impress. I had my cousin come with me once and he immediately decided to take his family again the next day and he has been to Indian and Nepalese food restaurants all over the world including India and Nepal. The staff are the most friendly and are always welcoming treat everyone with respect and kindness. I have never had a bad meal or or experience at this restaurant and I can confidently say that if anyone asked me for the place I would most recommend they try when visiting here, I would recommend this restaurant. My favorite dishes are the Lamb Curry, Mughlai chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, the Chicken Momos, and the Lamb Vindaloo, although I do recommend everything on the menu. The only thing to consider is that the spice level is a bit higher than most wing places so if you can handle hot wings, I would advise starting with mild if you are ordering any of the more...
Read moreSometimes you a know a place is amazing because you see people of the same ethnicity eating there. This is Kathmandu Spice. The servers are as authentic as the food is, and the food is amazing! Especially the Nepalese items. I had a beautiful lentil dish that was perfectly spiced to my liking, and as comforting and smooth as one can ask for a curry. My husband had the whole fish special, its bone in, but absolutely cooked to perfection. They have a beer and wine menu, with some good choices such as Josh Cabernet and St Michelle Reisling, wines to compliment the food. They have some hard basic alcohol, but this isn’t the food for cocktails, however, I’m sure they would have no issue making a rum and coke, a gin and tonic, or a vodka cranberry. I saw a child cry today because they didn’t have grenadine to make a Shirley Temple, and I’m sorry, if you’re kids aren’t able to have a plan B when they go out to eat, perhaps they aren’t ready to go out to eat. I saw the servers get talked down to tonight, and I will say it was unnecessary and rude. This is a Nepalese/Indian restaurant, if you want American type food, go to the pizza place next door. However, if you’re looking for a one of a kind wonderful and authentic restaurant with the servers being the same people who prepare your food with love and care, this...
