I've been to California burrito in Manchester a handful of times for different meals. This past visit, however, left a bad taste in my mouth. I ordered two burritos, one was a build your own situation where I requested various toppings and had it made to my liking. The second, however, is where everything went wrong. As someone with dietary restrictions, I asked to have the specialty California Burrito but without the sour cream or the cheese. When the staff member I ordered it from passed the order along to other staff so they could prepare it the staff members made a massive deal about it and looked incredulous and began speaking in Spanish about how the weird order made no sense. I tried to shrug it off but felt uncomfortable. When the other burrito was ready and I went to pay, the California burrito was the smallest thing I had ever seen, I wish I had taken a photo. I mentioned it to the staff member at the counter, and he asked that someone else open it back up. It was slightly bigger than it had been when it returned. When I got it home and looked at it, I found that there were 0 fries in the burrito. Just steak, salsa, and a dollop of guac. It was really disappointing to have my order mocked because of dietary restrictions, then have the order opened and "checked" by another staff member to not be fixed. It wasn't worth my $10, cheese and sour cream wouldn't have filled that burrito enough to make a difference, but the fries would have.
Because I was made to feel uncomfortable about my order, I don't think I'll be back. I understand being busy during a shift but it was frustrating to ask for something to be fixed and have...
Read moreI didn’t get far enough to try the food but it looked good so 3 stars on food is a guess. I would give service a zero if I could because being completely ignored is the reason we left. The girls working across the counter did not communicate one word to us for 15 minutes after starting to order tacos the girl just stared at us and over at the other girl like she was waiting on the other girl and did not say one word - no “hold on a minute please” or anything. They kept looking at their tablets and appeared to be making online takeout orders only. When the guy behind us stepped up to ask like “Heyy….are you only taking online orders right now orrr….?” The main girl who seemed to be pissed off in general stared at him and didn’t answer his questions just asked him like what he wanted….as if he was the first in line. He wasn’t just trying to skip us, I don’t understand what she doesn’t get about a LINE. We spoke up and asked basically the same thing and if she saw us all standing here in a line that was at least 10+ people almost to the door. She looked at us like we’re the reason she hates her life and started rudely and blankly asking us what we wanted then. At that point, I felt extremely uncomfortable and told my friend I didn’t even want to give my money to these people and eat at a place people are treated this way. The two guys behind us walked out behind us as well. One of the weirdest experiences I’ve ever had. Learn how to communicate in English if you’re...
Read moreFirst time going to California burrito located in Manchester New Hampshire. My daughter was raving about their burritos so I decided to try one today. To place an order online I had to call their phone number and then they send you a text message to start the order. As they get established they may want to get set up with Grubhub and DoorDash and also offer an online ordering system. I was told the order would be ready in 30 minutes and I waited to give a little extra time. In the end after I arrived I had to wait another 20 minutes for my order. The people that are working there are hustling and one young lady was running the register and doing multiple tasks and was keeping the wheels on the bus. The food was definitely worth the wait. I had a make your own burrito and the chicken is good flavor and was well put together. My suggestion would be to the franchisee owner to look at how many people you have at your locations to make sure that they're fully staffed. The reason is as fast as you can get people to come in the door you can lose them...
