We've been coming here for years for their Hibachi. We always get the filet mignon. Everything is usually great, but we hadn't been in over a year, and decided to go last night. It was a Thursday night around 7pm, and we didn't expect the place to be full, and it wasn't. They had to turn on the lights for the Hibachi room because no one was in there. All of the plates had already been set out around the grills, which is a bit unsanitary if you ask me. How long had dust from the air been settling onto those plates? Anyway, the man who did the grill came out with everything already cut. Watching the show is half the price you pay, but they had already cut up the filet mignon backstage, so we didn't get to watch them cut the meat. He just dumped it onto the grill already cut into cubes. And those cubes were already brown on the outside, red only on the inside - how meat looks that is getting rather old. The fried rice used to be delicious, with plenty of carrots and peas mixed in. Now it just a few light shavings of carrot and a few wisps of some green herb to give it some look of green. Shrinkflation? Hmm. Anyway, the biggest crime was having the filet mignon and veggies smothered in some new Teriyaki sauce that they never used to use before. They used to put a tab of butter with a few shakes of salt/pepper/spices onto the meat and veggies while they cooked, but now they squirt a huge amount of teriyaki sauce. Maybe they used the teriyaki sauce because the meat was browned/old already, to hide the flavor? You should not smother filet mignon with some sweet thick sauce. It just was not the same. The decline in food quality is really sad, because we used to love coming here. The service was excellent, as usual, and they were very friendly, but you go to a restaurant for the food, not the service. Hopefully they will read this and go back to preparing their tepanyaki how they used to. Until then, we'll try...
Read moreI will never go back to this place again. Our waiter was rude and inconsiderate. I got smoked salmon that had obviously gone bad and when I brought it to his attention he snapped at me saying "it's supposed to look dull because it's smoked". I lived in Japan for 3 years and used to be a health inspector, I know what fresh salmon is supposed to look like. I've never seen any kind of salmon, smoked or otherwise that was so colorless and dull that wasn't rotten. Normally when a customer is unhappy, you offer them a refund or to remake the order. This guy was perfectly happy serving rotten salmon and trying to lie to his customers. Needless to say, I tried one piece and knew it was for sure tainted. If this is the kind of staff this place employs and the standards which it operates under, don't expect...
Read moreI was visiting the area for my son's graduation and this is where we went for his graduation dinner.
The restaurant is decorated nicely and very adorable inside. They did a good job setting the atmosphere and making it feel inviting.
We ordered hibachi and it was all delicious. They cook it in front of you and put on a little show which makes it a lot of fun. At the time of day we went, there wasn't very many people there, we might have been the only patrons in the restaurant actually. Service was top-notch.
There is a gym that exists as a business above this business. You get the nice restaurant ambience music and then you have this pumping pumping music that is coming from the ceiling above. It definitely made for an interesting experience, but did not detract from the delicious food that...
