By far the WORSST EXPERIENCE !!! Especially on our WEDDING NIGHT ! We made reservations weeks in advance and then were confirmed the week prior to our wedding. We all book rooms at the hotel next door and connected to this place, to meet with friends and family after I wonderful experience at The Coach Stop restaurant ( if local check it out better than service here) So upon arrival of family and friends to what we hoped to be fantastic experience have few drinks then go to our hotel and be safe. Well as we are all getting settled and people arrive believe on round of drinks was served to a few of them. One of my family members went to get or ask for some service as more arrived. Staff was rude and had attitude from the get go. Upon me and my new Husband arrive and about to sit we are approached by the manager informing us they refused to serve anyone tonight ? What ? we had reserved table and are all staying at hotel. ( few people had not drank prior though Manager claimed as I look back at all the guests and all sitting like no one was acting up, falling over drunk, nothing. We would understand if you shut off someone that was displaying drunk behavior, but a whole table that was expecting a nice evening. Yes, harsh words were said not proud and we went to go across the street, the place that just told me and family to leave proceeds to call that establisment and then we were refuse there ? due to them calling. Then me and family and friends had to walk in the rain to a nice place downtown who accepted our business and money gladly. We then returned to our hotel only to have be brought to our attention that the restaurant also called our hotel. Which now created an issue there as well. Let's just say me and my new husband had to drive home after being told due to issues from restaurant we needed to leave. Thank you to this awful restaurant and to the owners Granit State Hospitality group, we hope you truly take a look at your management staffing. As with this one in place and few employee there as well your sure to be losing business. We sensed that they were more interesting in closing early that evening as place was quite empty. In these hard economic times your establishment not only ruined what was a beautiful wedding day for us into a nightmare. I can't or won't discredit food or anything here as we never had opportunity to try. My point in this review is for the accountability of poor service, and management...
Read moreOur experience was mixed. A flight of beers was ordered but one was clearly a different beer than that which was ordered (supposed to be an IPA and was a stout). The Ruben sandwich wasn't great. Pastrami was tough and sliced too thick to easily bite off so it wasn't the best. Also, the waitress said we could substitute fries, onion rings, etc for the chip "for a small charge" which turned out to be the full price of a side dish as shown on the menu. So basically we got charged for sides and didn't get the included chips. Also, $25 for a "large" vegetable pizza seems pricey...it was good but nothing special and just seemed overpriced for what it was.
Finally, because the place has sliding glass doors that open for summer dining it's pretty cold and drafty in winter so sitting inside we needed to wear our coats in order to be comfortable. In short, our experience wasn't the best, not the worst but there's no compelling reason to return.
12/23 Update: Pleased to say we have been back several times since our first experience and things have improved significantly. My only criticism is the prices are a bit high for the kind of place it is but the food quality is pretty good. We especially enjoyed the BOGO lobster rolls this summer. Went for Brunch on Saturday (didn't realize it was being offered) and the food was very good. Not enough corned beef and too many potatoes in the hash was my only complaint - hopefully next time they will get the...
Read moreMade the mistake of walking 15 minutes to get a burger. Was awkwardly stared at when I walked inside and the kid at the door just ran away. Then another guy comes over looking at me like I have 3 heads and asks if they can help me. The correct way to greet a customer is "Hello, table for one?" Anyway, I ask if I can place an order for take out. "Ask one of the bartenders, they can help you." Strike three.
So I go over to the bar and ask to order a burger and fries. The girl just says "okay" and starts typing. I had to interrupt her to tell her what I wanted on the burger. She never asked how I wanted it cooked... Which to the customer means it's going to be well done. YOU HAVE TO ASK HOW THE CUSTOMER WANTS THEIR BURGER IF YOU DONT COOK IT WELL DONE NORMALLY! My order came out so fast I even said "wow that was quick". So I left and went back to my office. So finally after a long day of debating what to eat for dinner and then the long walk there and back I open my meal and see red juices leaking out of the burger. I take a bite and it's raw. I called, told them the issue. They offered to make me another one (no thanks I already walked there and back), then they offered to take my information so I could get another one later (why would I do that?), and finally they put someone else on the phone and they refunded my money (which doesn't really help me tonight). Will not...
