Pool House Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Manhattan

I asked Ryan, the bartender, if they had a piece of paper and tape so I could write a note for the bathroom door, that the lock was broken and to knock before entering, after I walked in on a woman using the restroom.

Ryan was very rude stating "we're almost closed and were going to fix it this weekend, there's no reason to put a note on the door".... apparently this lock has been broken for a few weeks after speaking with other customers. Why not put a note up? Maybe spend the 5-10 cents for a sign so your patrons know to knock beforehand.

As I was leaving Ryan was talking about me to other patrons saying I was being unreasonable. I guess this is how this business is ran now, in a state of disrepair and by disrespecting their customers.

I presume the owners don't care if their customers are walked in while they are using the restroom.

I normally have had no issues at this establishment; however, I would recommend avoiding this place as long as Ryan is treating people...

2/13/21 update Enjoyed another safe and Covid compliant night at the Poolhouse. The staff were practicing safe service methods and the drinks were all on point. Enjoyed several Valentines Day specials asking with a few originals. Still able to get to-go mixes as well as their new customized double rocks glasses that look fabulous! Please make the effort to try this wonderful tropical establishment out as they put their heart and soul into their cocktails and you will have a great time!

Original exotic drinks and the ability to make classic tiki drinks or at least riffs off them, plus some excellent lite fare from the kitchen (including some delictible desserts make this a welcome addition to the Manhattan bar scene as well as the Midwest...

This is small cozy place that seems to have great cocktails and summer items. I had just got soaked by the rain so wasn’t in a mood for a cold drink but got some small plates. Everything was reasonable priced and deckhouse. I got the poke dip and my sister got the spicy Chicago dog. Sitting at the bar we got continuous great service. Next time I’m in town to visit my sister going to come back to try there delicious...
