Applebee's Grill + Bar | IHOP — Restaurant in Manitowoc

This restaurant literally almost killed me and didn't even care. This venue does not list all items in a meal on the menu. They also do not inform you that all items are listed on the menu that come in a meal.

My wife and I were meeting a friend for her birthday. I ordered the orange chicken bowl. The menu did not list mushrooms at all as something that is in this entrée. After eating 1 piece of chicken, I noticed something odd in my bowl and had my wife check. It was a rather large sautéed and sliced mushroom. And there were many more beneath the chicken. I have a severe allergy to mushrooms which results in anaphylaxis if eaten.

After confronting the server about it, she took my plate and went away. No offer to make another order, no apology, nothing. I walked over and checked a menu by the entrance just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Nope. No mushrooms listed.

The server came back to the table and informed me that not everything is listed on the menu. Everyone else at the table was half finished or more with their food at this point. I ended up having to stop the server and tell her that I still hadn't eaten lunch and would like to order something else. I couldn't believe she was just going to walk away leaving the table in front of me completely empty.

I ordered another entrée and someone else brought it out. I ended up having to rush through it though because we had something we were doing elsewhere for our friend's birthday. We got the bill, no concession, no "sorry we almost killed you", nothing.

What ever happened to people caring how they treat...

WARNING: This establishment has recently allowed an intoxicated and belligerent customer to verbally threaten everyone in the building with gun related violence, and MANAGEMENT DID NOT CONTACT POLICE!!!!! Several customers were forced to listen to the man loudly using foul language, while he was apparently attempting to purchase illegal drugs from a member of their staff. He was asked to leave, and then exited the building with an open intoxicant from the bar!! Staff members only acted to retrieve the item AFTER another customer explained that his drink was in a Applebee"s glass, and should he be caught with it in public, the restaurant could be held liable! There is NO EXCUSE for this to have been tolerated and for no one to contact the proper authorities!! As this is a popular hangout for teens, (between the hours of 10 PM and midnight for half-Apps), they are blatantly putting children at risk!! Also, the food is almost always horrible, and the service is even worse. Under cooked meat, like chicken and ground beef, (state requires these to both be cooked well). Staff members ignoring customers while they chat at the bar, drink orders are often forgotten or just wrong, and when you finally do get your food...? Beware!! Giving 1 star as required...

My family went to dinner for opening night and I can say we will not be back for a number of reasons. The #1 reason is because my son was choking and turning blue in a matter of seconds and not ONE employee came to ask us if they could help or if we needed help or dial 911 or nothing. 3 other strangers who all happened to be there asked if we needed help or if they could help. The reason I gave a 3 star rating for the atmosphere is because of those 3 strangers stopping and asking if we needed help or they could be of any help. If it wasn't for them, I would give it a 1 star as well. My 2nd reason I won't be returning is there menu setup is "wonky" as management said and they overcharged me for my meal and then also charged me for my 1 side because they were out of broccoli. So there's miscommunication with the new setup and staff apparently. Management said they would give me a discount next time we come back. But because of the reasons listed above I will not be returning and would much rather they refunded me the "discount" instead. I do not recommend them. If I want Applebee's or IHOP I'll take the drive to...
