Absolutely the worst experience ever! Decided to celebrate our 33rd Anniversary on 09/29/23 5:25 pm arrival at a new establishment in Mankato. We arrived and were told 45 minute wait, we were okay with that and actually got seated in 25 minutes. What happens next is truly unbelievable. We were seated at our table 25 minutes and not one single employee approached us! We had our menu's at the end of table showing we were ready to order, employee waiting on tables around us saw us there and ignored us at least 5 trips through our area. Finally a different waitress was talking to hostess and looked at us twice and hostess gave a quisical look. Finally the waitress approached us said she was sorry and took our order of Wings, Fries and Reuben appetizers along with our drink order and it would be expedited ( so she said) , after 10 minutes of waiting for drinks I caught her walking by and inquired about our drinks she again said sorry and we finally got them. In the meantime two men got seated by us, same waitress took their order and with virtually no wait maybe two minutes the already had their drinks? Plus they received their appetizer before us? Finally we get our order one hour after arrival at our Table, NOT the restaurant and the first wing I bit into wasn't done! We had enough! I returned my wing order and told waitress we'd just share my wives Reuben appetizers. Finally our Anniversary dinner from Hell was about over. We asked for our bill and to my surprise the wings I returned were on our bill! I then approached Bar tender who was near cash register a told him of our displeasure he also apologized, I than asked for manager( all 22-24 years old) and she came and spoke to me, never gave good reason for poor service and she had the gaul to tell me that they probe all meat served and mine I returned was okay after my wife and waitress both seen the blood and rawness of the FIRST chicken drumstick I bit into! The Manager was VERY unprofessional, she said she would fix bill and give us 15% off bill for our troubles, she then comes back with bill only to see that the under cooked wings were STILL on the bill! which I again pointed out to her, finally we got the correct bill from the manager who didn't apologize or say anything just left bill on table and walked off, Never in my life have I personally witnessed such unprofessional behavior. I will personally bad mouth the Olde Brick House till I'm in my grave. Very poorly trained staff and Manger...
Read moreStaff was friendly and helpful. 5 stars.
I got the "14oz" ribeye. It was maybe 7oz and half was bone and fat and it was the thinnest ribeye ever. It was cooked ok, though. 2 stars.
Here's the description: 14oz** hand-cut aged USDA Choice ribeye steak, topped with herb butter and winey mushrooms. Served with champ potatoes and chef’s vegetable.
I got mashed potatoes (they called them mashed every where else in the menu, I was hoping champ potatoes were wedges or something else). No mushrooms or butter. But I did get it "black and blue" (2 bucks extra, and is blue cheese, not seared outside and blue inside..) And Chef's vegetables... 5 stalks of asparagus. facepalm
Prices are WAY too high. I paid over 50 for a steak and 2 beers. And those were happy hour prices. 2 Stars
Atmosphere was great. Our waiter was great too. man, I'm hungry after that "14oz" steak..
So I was there again in 2025 and I got a burger but subbed a chicken breast. I don't know how they cooked that thing but it was terrible. -1 star for the review because the chicken was so bad and I felt sick for 3 hours after. At least they make good drinks. But that's only because the bartenders are awesome and just follow recipes.
Oh, and their AC vents drip water everywhere off the ceiling ducts and they think...
Read moreOmg, wow, this place is awesome! Finally, a restaurant that's not Mexican or Chinese, which we love, but that's all we see anymore, and is a different experience altogether! Right off from the start, the food was delicious. We started with the Scotch eggs w/ mustard sauce, which were prepared to perfection. Let me state right off. With most restaurants around here in Southern Minnesota, the food that is fried is usually served soggy with grease and overly salty, not here! Their fried foods are served nice and crisp and with seasoning and not just slathered with salt, you know, the way it should be. I had the fish and chips with their house tarter sauce for the fish and a delightful lighter sauce for the chips. MY WIFE HAD Shepards pie which was served in its own mini cast iron pan, and that tasted amazing as well. As we were getting ready to leave, we mentioned to Jarrod our server how we came here for my birthday, and then he said, " Hang on, guys, you get a free dessert!" I chose the bread pudding, and I simply do not have the words to describe how wonderful that was! All I can say is GO, GO NOW TO THE OLDE BRICK HOUSE! YOU...
