White's Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Mansfield

I will never go here again. When you go to White's, if you go in and need to grab something quick like a pastry tray that is pre-made on the shelf, or a bag of cookies, or something bottled from the cooler and check out - it's not allowed. You have to take a number at the door, wait to be called, then you are welcomed to come to the counter and pay. Think about that for a minute. I went in on my way to a birthday cookout and needed something fast to bring, grabbed a brownie tray. I go to the register- and i don't even get acknowledged, i have to ANNOUNCE that I am there, and just need to pay. Turns out the number being called was at 17, and the next available ticket was 33. I said, i don't want anything from inside the pastry case. She said it doesn't matter, that is how their system works - "you take a number and wait your turn." So i put the tray down, and said I am leaving, this is insane. So if you need a coffee, or something pre-made and to cash out - get a number and wait to be called no matter what you want to buy. Good luck with more than 10 people with plenty of time to waste on a Saturday thinking about picking something in the pastry case. This is a perfect example of a broken process. The cashier lady that thought I was being ridiculous said, we've been doing it this way for 4 years, and too many customers isn't a bad thing. I didn't swear, or flip out, I was just ready to leave the tray and get out of this place. It doesn't matter if they have the best stuff you've ever tasted on the planet with this type of broken process. I hope White's reads this review- gets another register or dedicates an employee to just cash people out that want something ready to go. My wife even said when you order for pickup - YOU ALSO HAVE TO TAKE A NUMBER AND WAIT LIKE A DELI...

I went to whites today(10/5/18) at approximately 4:33 pm. I picked up rolls,BBQ pork and stood at the back in front of the food items. There was a server helping a man 1 foot from me. She did not look at me once. A tall server was at the cash register (with 2 others servers) cashing a customer out. Customer left. Only myself and the man who was being helped with a written order. All three servers came to the back of the shop. did not approach me!! Two servers spoke to the tall server. No one ever came over to help me. Mind you I am staring at all of them. Brunette server looked at me several times and backed into the kitchen.Came back out- went back in. Blonde shorter server stared at me more than once put on gloves and went back to putting bakery items on tray. New customers enter store. Tall server immediately helps them, bringing them to the back to the cake case next to me...I stare at her and the customers...ignores me. After 10 minutes of being ignored, I put back items I was going to purchase. I went out to my car and told my 25 year old daughter ( who has a culinary degree and is a cook) how they all ignored me. Whites bakery is incredible. Based in Brockton but love that they have this store in Mansfield. Everything for the most part looks and tastes delicious. Only issue I have had is with the lemon chicken pasta salad - something was not right and tasted very bitter. Since I have not ordered that specifically. I love their Fajita Chicken and the BLT pasta salad. For deserts everything delicious and never had an issue. I love their tarts and their cheesecakes, especially their unique blueberry ricotta cheesecake. The cannolis are awesome, they have many other baked deserts and baked goods including handmade croutons and bread, croissants, cupcakes, cookies, muffins, scones, and cakes and many other items you would expect from a bakery.

All I can say to anyone that is looking at this, check them out and I promise you won't regret it. Highly recommend everyone try this bakery out. It's bakery heaven. Staff are super helpful and friendly and the food is out of this world. I believe they have hot or iced tea and...
