I had never had a problem at this Taco Bell/KFC until yesterday. My wife and son and I all stopped by after a long evening of house shopping for a bite to eat. I ordered a Grilled Stuft steak burrito combo for her, a shredded chicken mini quesadilla for our 2 year old, and a Mexican pizza, cheese quesadilla, soft taco supreme, and large drink for myself.
A couple minutes after I had paid for the order, the cashier told me they were out of steak for the burrito. Seriously??? My wife settled for ground beef and they offered a second grilled stuft burrito to make up for it.
Next, they told me they were out of shredded chicken for the mini quesadilla. What??? Really?? They offered chicken breast instead. Okay, acceptable.
Then I went to the soda machine to fill my cup with Pepsi and the flow that came out looked entirely watered-down and flat. I informed them they were out of Pepsi only to find out that their CO2 machine was broken so only non-carbonated drinks were working. Are you kidding me??? Don't you think this is something that ought to have been brought to my attention BEFORE I purchased a soda? I went to the counter and asked for a refund. The cashier, obviously a rookie (no blame there) stepped away to speak to his manager for approval. He returned only to explain that to issue a refund was a complicated process, and that he could offer me 2 cookies for each drink I ordered to make up for it. I told him I did not want any cookies, just a refund. He went back to his manager one more time and conveyed my response. The manager came out and asked me What's the situation, as if to play dumb that she did not know what I had requested. I told her I wanted a refund for my drink because the machine didn't work and she explained to me that it wasn't their fault the machine didn't work but she was willing to issue a refund anyway. I told her that it wasn't my fault I wasn't informed that the machine didn't work before I paid for my drink. She was able to issue my refund within less than a minute, even though it was supposedly a complicated process (I knew better than that).
When the food finally came they had thrown in a couple extra tacos for the inconvenience which was really nice, and told me they hoped there's food was good.
Never before have I been to a Taco Bell that was so disorganized. I hope this was a one-off and not a common occurrence for this location or a management problem. I do appreciate them trying to correct the lack of food problems, but when i ask for my money back, please just...
Read moreMy wife and I always play the "I wonder what they'll forget this time" when we visit the Maple Valley KFC/TB location. I should've walked out before ordering... I knew it was going to be a bad experience when the sink water in the bathroom was freezing. They obviously turned off the hot water to the bathroom to save money. How are the employees supposed to have clean hands after using the bathroom? The guy working the counter, Clarence, had to ask the guy with the orange pig tails and neck tattoos how to find nearly everything we ordered on the cash register. Clarence was fine, he was probably new and we get it, but pig tails was extremely rude and condescending to Clarence. After 30 minutes, yes, exactly 30 minutes (I timed it) we finally got our food. We were missing items that they had already over charged us for, but I felt bad for poor Clarence so I didn't raise a stink about paying the extra $3. I asked for my missing items and pig tails gave me attitude. He then poured bbq sauce on only half of my chicken since I had ordered the bbq tender special. The gravy on my mashed potatoes was ice cold. The Maple Valley location has always been bad but it's continually gone down in customer service and I'm to the point to where I'll drive triple distance to Covington. This location is just plain horrible, not sure how they stay...
Read moreThey were out of chicken. On a positive note, the employees were as sweet as my mama's homemade apple pie. A friendly suggestion to the manager/assistant manager, if you run out of chicken again, call around to close KFCs and see if you can borrow a few boxes of chicken to get you through the night. Then adjust your future order to be able and repay that stores borrowed chicken. That's what we used to do back in the 90s. Sometimes we'd have to go to several stores to get enough chicken, but that's what we did to satisfy our customers. 2nd tip, every time there is a break in customers, whoever is registering the front should be checking the bathrooms, garbage cans, washing the tables in the lounge, Etc. Every garbage was full, the condiment counter was a disaster, napkins were strewn about, every table needed to washed, the floor needed spot swept, ect. Last tip, if your soda pop machine is broken, and you do not have an alternative drink to provide a customer, do not offer the "value" meals, unless you are going to substitute the drink with something else. Some examples; a freeze, small dessert pie, cinnamon twists, caramel apple empanada, a sparkling Berry Breeze, small cake. I feel this would have helped your customers leave feeling a lot more satisfied then I witnessed them leaving....
