This place is beautiful, quite and simple. White sands and very clean. Great for the elderly and families with little kids. This is not a place for adult parties and festivities and what I mean by that is loud music, dancing, interactive employees, etc. The drinks at the tiki bar was good. The food at the tiki bar was less than mediocre. The pizza that was suppose to be thin was actually thick. It will remind you of the frozen box pizzas in the supermarket.. actually that would of been better then what we received. The quesadillas had a very bad after taste. The basic products they used was cheap and you can taste it. Their chicken sandwich was okay.. between 1- 10 and 10 be very tasty I give it a 5.. neither bad nor great. The fish tacos was good, 8.75 from a score between 1 - 10.. 10 being phenomenal. Their quality of food products is cheap however that doesn’t match the price.. too pricey for the mediocrity. This is not a cultured place. This is white America. You might run into a family of Asians or maybe one family of Spaniards. You might.. you mightttt see some colored folks working there if you are lucky. Like the eclipse, It’s a rare siting. My score doesn’t have to do with the lack of diversity this place has but...
Read moreThe tiki bar is right on the water so the view and the location is excellent. It is located inside the Tranquility Bay resort and it is upscale and fancy. The prices are very high and it might be worth it if you're a tourist staying at the resort. However, as a local i came in there to check it out and enjoy the scenery. The place is beautiful and well kept. But you will be paying double for the same things you can find just outside the resort. The service is friendly and they accept locals mixing in with the tourist crowd. Hats off to the hard working guys out there behind the bar. They mix some of the best frozen drinks I've ever tasted right there at TJ's tiki. And there's a bunch to choose from on the menu. Live music sometimes, i think mostly on weekend nights. It truly is a very tranquil place to enjoy...
Read moreI may give this place another chance because the ocean-front location is gorgeous. TJs is part of a classic-Keys style hotel that looks fairly upscale. The main restaurant's rather high-priced menu items didn't inspire, so we walked out to the bar. It was late, the bar food service appeared to be ending.
We ordered fish tacos and a Cuban sandwich, to share. Fortunately for me, the fish was spicy-hot, which I can't do. I ate only one bite. The Cuban was OK. My friend did eat a bit more of the taco. Then, because I had specified "no hot," the server took the tacos off our bill.
But too late. We'd both thought that fish had a strong, unpleasant odor. Not long afterward, my friend became quite ill. I'd like to go back someday because it is a beautiful spot. Maybe for...
