The worst part of the restuarnt was the service. Our waitress was MIA pretty much the entire meal. We were lucky we got our orders in because other than that she would walk up to our table every now and then and say "I hope everythings great" and as we were about to ask for something or had questions she would just nod, flash us a smile, say "Thats so great!" and turn and leave before we could even get a word out or cut us off mid sentence. It was odd and the place wasnt slammed this particular Wed evening.

She refused to run food, refill waters, and waited for this one poor guy who ended up honestly taking care of us to the best of his ability despite any help from her including getting us sauces, refilling waters, silverware, and extra napkins and he was great (I am assuming he was the food runner). Our waitress on the other hand, hung out next to the POS and chatted with others or was on her phone while food died in the pass (we were seated next to it so we had a birds eye view).

The only comment on the poor food runner who was really trying his best was he placed his hands on the rice cracker for the tuna tartar (every order, not just ours) because I guess he didnt want it dropping, and putting his thumb over the rim of bowls resulting that thumb going into food. To be honest we didnt care and were grateful for him but for those of you who are picky about that, it may be a good area to address for the restaurant. It also seemes based on other reviews this restaurant is just not where you go for service, at least not yet if you are looking to spend 200+.

The food overall is good but the dishes are really hit and miss. The chowder was delicious with a creamy well seasoned roux and a generous portion of clams. The crab cakes were huge with little filler and came with a generous serving of cream mashed potatoes. The king crab was fresh and def. a spoil yourself dish which was delicately steamed and split open for the convience of the diner though I will say the "lemony butter" wasnt a great match because it was super sour but it does come on the side. The strawberry salad was large with a generous amount of tasty toppings including dried fruit and spiced nuts.

The misses were the gumbo which was sweet, underseasoned, and barely any seafood in it except for an over cooked shrimp as garnish. The kids mac and cheese might be from next door because its too sophisticated in flavor for a little kids palate and the tuna tartar ,while good, just needed more including seasoning, and acid but it is a large and...

Went on Mother’s Day. I wanted to go somewhere different this year, therefore, I chose Mac’s. There were no available seats until about three hours after we arrived. So, we chose to sit at the bar which I mostly like. We sat in front of the seafood bar. I enjoyed watching the worker shuck the oysters and plate the seafood. The services was great and beyond what was expected. Both sides of rhetoric restaurant was bustle and the staff still made time to check on us periodically. The added bonus was the GM introducing herself.

Since we were not sitting on the Chop House side we were still able to order off the menu with the exception of drinks. All drinks are required to be ordered on the raw bar restaurant side.

We had the chargrilled oysters as an appetizer. They oysters were good and tasty. We just didn’t get enough. It’s nice to know they’re flown in daily and they have Happy Hour $1.50 an oyster. You know what’s that means we will be back LOL.

The main course: Me - Sweet Brunswick shrimp, Carolina grits, Andouille sausage, and blistered tomatoes I wouldn’t order this again. I’m picky when it comes to grits. The food had a sweet taste (sugar do not go on grits, LOL) I’m not sure what caused the sweet taste. Other than that the grits would’ve been good. The shrimps were big and tasty. The andouille was good, the corn was a nice touch and the liquid sauce not sure what I think. However, the tomatoes kind of balanced the sweetness. Others will like this meal I’m just being picky with the grits.

DH - 16oz Prime Delmonico Ribeye with the complimentary Aligot potatoes. He starts ti steak was good but he has better. Just wasn’t worth the price. DH added a side of shrimp too. He also, tried the Smoked Old English. The drink didn’t come out smoking like other places. Although, the drink did have a smoke smell.

Oh yeah, the parking isn’t the best around the square. Expect to possible walk a...

Tried out this restaurant for the first time with a friend and while the food and drink that I had was good, the customer service was terrible. My actual server was a really nice girl so my review is not for her. However, there was a man behind the bar with a horrible attitude. I joined my friend who was already seated at the bar when I got there . A little after we got our appetizer, the rude bartender came over, with a lady who also worked there, to us and said “alright y’all need to move back to where y’all came from because the restaurant is full and we have people to seat here”. I look at him with genuine confusion and shock because for starters, who are you talking to in such a disrespectful manner!!?!! No hello, excuse me nothing. And also why did the lady come over for him to say anything to us. If she is supposed to be FOH Staff then she should’ve addressed us. No one ever asked us to move, or told us that we could not sit there. While there was a reserved sign at the bar it was moved when someone decided they did not want to sit at the bar. The manager came over when we asked for him and while he tried to rectify the situation (he took off our drinks) after we explained the bartenders behavior we shortly left ending our dinner and decided not to spend another dollar there. When we left we had a couple that was seated beside us ask us what happened as they saw the whole situation play out. They also felt that the bartender was rude to us and thought it may have been racial discrimination. (Me and my friend, as well as the couple, are African American. Bartender was presumed to be White ) Again, the drink and oysters we had were good but not worth the lackluster customer service nor discriminatory behavior. While I would have liked to try their entrees, I refuse to spend money in an establishment that treats their patrons in...

We had the king, crab oysters, and scallops and salad. Went to check this place out since we’ve had their steakhouse and was nice to find it was really nice. Love the layout love, the openness and open space of the tables and the actual bar you can see them sucking and getting things prepared. The seafood itself was delicious. The presentations were amazing. The service was also OK - the Reason I say OK is our food sat. We sat and watched it sitting on the waiting table for a little too long. The place was empty so there was no excuse for that. It was a Sunday so the seafood is not necessarily as fresh because it was delivered either last Thursday or Friday. But you know you’re paying upwards of 50 to 70 bucks for king crab, not as fresh as you would like or expect or want for that kind of money, but I go here again absolutely. Everything else, the oysters the scallops, delicious amazing something definitely going back for. Love the Marietta town Square. What a great cool place to walk before or after lunch or dinner. Parking can be complicated but there’s plenty of it. You just have to know where to find it. There are parking decks around the square if you can’t find a space on the square itself.

So I’m in Marietta on a date, outside my usual spots in the city (Midtown Atlanta). With no destination in mind other than picking a new spot in Marietta Square, I came across Mac’s Raw Bar. Now, ever since I’ve been spoiled by a raw bar at Chelsea Market in the Chelsea neighborhood in New York, I’ve been reluctant to try raw bars that are too far inland. Well, besides being impressed with Ray’s on the River (which I tried for the first time a few months ago) I can say I am also impressed by Mac’s Raw Bar. I kept it simple - a dozen oysters (Northeast and west coast only), with a side of horseradish & cocktail sauce, lemon, & mignonette. A market platter with shrimp, scallops, lobster tail and green beans. Later and not pictured, a bowl of NE Clam Chowder with pork belly, which at first I wasn’t sold on but after having tasting it, I loved it. Side note: later in the evening I was expressing to my date that this was as good as Rays on the River and later learn from the staff that the Chef de Cuisine that founded Mac’s worked at Rays!
