Solar Slice Pizza — Restaurant in Marietta

This is my fourth time coming to this place, it’s good every time. Today I left a bit disappointed. I ordered a large half cheese and half pepperoni pizza. They put cold pepperoni on an already cooked cheese pizza (reserved for slices), re-heated it, took about 6 minutes and gave it to me.

I have no issues with this process. It’s understandable if someone orders a single slice of something specific, you don’t make an entire pizza just for them. However in this case, I expected a fresh pizza for $30 bucks.

I paid, and tipped, had every intention on coming back here because every other time has been great.

I asked the manager however if I could request a pizza made in ONE bake in the future next time. He got defensive telling me it should taste the same, I’ve been making pizza for years…etc. I could tell he didn’t get what I was saying but I had had to leave. Very nice guy cordial not rude or anything but I’m not about to stand here all day.

The cheese on the partially cooked pizza already melted and solidified once. even though it’s technically the same ingredients, the taste and texture was noticeably different. First time I felt like I didn’t get my moneys worth at this place. Still five stars because I will give them another shot. (Every other time has been perfect. Just like back home up north) but had to leave an honest review of my experience in hopes they will improve this customer experience. I waited all week to drive here this weekend and my family tasted the difference immediately. Cheese side overcooked. Pepperonis came right off because they weren’t cooked in....

Really great small business, and fantastic pizza. I'm a harsh critic and the taste on the pizza gets a solid 9.3/10 from me, in terms of crispiness, it could've been in the oven for a little longer so 7.5/10 (you could probably just ask for it crispier). Lastly the crust was a solid 8, very simple, very traditional, and very good texture. Overall this hits my pizza rating of 8.6/10. For the price, this bumps to a 9/10. I believe as this place grows and becomes more popular, there may be a possibility for a 10/10 but I will monitor and do an update.

EDIT: I went to this place again and had an even better experience. If you would like your slice truly New York Style, then ask for it slightly well done or as the owner calls it “Zach style”. This slice yields a 9.5/10 on the crispiness scale. As for crust, due to it being Zach style, it was a 9.5/10 crust for me this time around. Many may be wondering what the .5 missing there is, and I think some sort of twist or unique execution of the crust will bring this pizza into stardom. As for what this twist could be, there are infinite possibilities however, garlic infused oil on the crust or perhaps some other culinary masterpiece could fit the role. Lastly, the price is the same and I will give it a 9/10. This place had a lot of potential and everyone should keep an eye out.

TLDR: GO TRY THIS PLACE AND GET A SLICE IF YOU...

Nothing less than the best! I wish I took a pic ! I traveled all the way from the downtown Atlanta through traffic, my order was ready and waiting for me. I placed it through DoorDash as a pick up order. I walk in I’m greeted by a smiling face behind the counter, as soon as he seen me, he says hey!!! Large pepperoni pizza and I smile, wondering how he even knew. I was so excited to try this pizza. It had such amazing reviews online, but I wanted to see if it was really what it was said to be and the truth is it was! I ran to my car !! I sped home (don’t judge me) and had the best pizza experience that I’ve had since living in Atlanta by far worth the trip. I get obsessive about things I enjoy , To be honest, I wanted to order it again today, but the delivery area on DoorDash doesn’t expand to downtown Atlanta, but I will be making a trip again possibly in the next few hours to pick up again!

Pros: I love the sauce they use It gives a very classic Flavor doesn’t taste like a jar or a can you can taste the love in it ! Top-tier ingredients, Many options, Fast and friendly service, Clean atmosphere, Modern aesthetics within, perfect portions / size.

Cons: Not one...
