Probably one of the WORST Indian restaurants in town. There was no one to attend while we were at the restaurant and the waitress only showed while taking the order (no follow up). The order took terribly long ~20-25 min. Remember that the main dishes do not come with rice or bread and you need to order them separately which makes the overall cost high. This is not how restaurants normally work in AMERICA. We ordered Chicken Sandwich, Malvani chicken and 2 Surati Gotala. The taste was pathetic and less quantity. Sandwich bread size was the smallest ever with minimal chicken filling for the cost. Honestly, no one uses such smallest bread for making sandwiches in restaurants anywhere in the world. Also, Sandwiches are served with chips and ketchup both of which were not served at all. Chips and ketchups, green chutneys are always served with sandwiches not only in AMERICA but everywhere. We were a party of 4 and were charged gratuity fees. When asked about it, the waitress answered that as per owner’s rules, gratuity fees applies to a party of 2 or more which is unheard of in any restaurants in AMERICA. Later, when asked about the owner, she said he is not present in the restaurant. In situations like this, with whom is the customer supposed to talk? Instead of addressing these issues, all the waitress asked us to pay the gratuity as these are the rules. Felt like all they cared about was money and were absolutely not bothered about customer issues and no signs of apology. Never faced this kind of a situation in this country. And, FYI, gratuity usually applies to a party of 6 or more in all the restaurants in AMERICA. I would recommend visiting any other well established Indian restaurant rather than trying out this very poorly operated amateur...
Read moreI'm in the area a few times a week and have stopped by 3 times now. The food is great, the service is attentive, but wow, my order has been screwed up EVERY TIME, which is surprising because there were 3 or less tables each time.
The first time they brought bread instead of roti. Then, when I questioned that, they brought 1 piece of roti. I had to point out that the menu says 2 pieces. This was not that big of a deal so I thought nothing of it until I checked out. They charged me for the roti that was included with my meal. I even had to show them where it says this on their menu. I chalked this up to the restaurant being new and getting used to the menu.
The second time I ordered my meal with medium spice and it came out with mild to no spice. It was still good though. Again, not that big of an issue, but still an issue.
The third time I made a point of saying I wanted medium spice. This time my meal came out as ordered, but my vegetarian son's meal which was mild spice came out with chicken. We didn't realize that until he had eaten a couple bites that had some shredded chicken in it. They offered to re-do it. I said ok and that we'd take it to-go. When they gave it to me, I asked if it should have roti. She said no, but the menu obviously says it does. At this point I just wanted to go. When we got home my son couldn't eat the meal because they made it with medium spice not mild. It was spicier than the medium spiced meal I ordered.
After my third experience, I don't think we will go back. Bringing a vegetarian a meal with meat is a HUGE mistake.
If you happen to go, verify you receive exactly what you ordered. I don't know why they are so stingy about their roti when it's included...
Read moreThis was our first time trying Rangeen. To start with, I always have a high hope everytime an Indian restaurant opens up in Atlanta area -- because there are not too many good Indian restaurants and nor do all of them have good standards for food, atmosphere, and customer service. Unfortunately, Rangeen joins this list now amongst many other Indian restaurants that fail to cater all 3 together: excellent food, great ambience for a sit down dinner, and remarkable customer service. But why is that? Most Indian business owners focus on how to mint money "quickly" rather than focusing on quality & service which will definitely bring money regardless.
We ordered Kadai Paneer: had thinnest slices of paneer that crumbled in the thickest gravy on planet, had scanty small pieces of onions and bell peppers - what a failure it was as it is one of the most famously consumed North Indian food.
We ordered Butter Naan - it was cooked quickly, hence the black/brown spots were seen, but deep inside the naan was "kaccha" and hardly cooked. Yuck!
We also order Amdavadi Touch sandwich - this was good, less oily/buttery and hits the spot for the most part.
We did notify the manager before leaving to expect a review on Google which will not work in their favor. I hope your restaurant gets better. Please level up your game if you want to stand out from other fast food restaurants like Jay Bhavani and Honest. Please consider this constructive feedback and make necessary changes to your food to bring excellence and a good name out in Atlanta!
We may try you again- but for now we are still cleaning our tongue with the nasty gravy we...
