We have just moved to Marietta from Austin Texas and are trying all the local restaurants for the first time. Of course, we are excited to find out what our new go-to spots will be—especially for pizza and sandwiches. Not only were both the pizza and the sandwich delicious (I am very happy about the sub especially because it was amazing and there's some sandwich shops I really miss in Texas) but the service was amazing. It wasn't super fast, but they were very busy and I don't mind waiting for good food. We ordered my daughters pizza with no cheese because she can't have cheese. When I notified them, they promptly offered to send a new one, even though the no cheese request didn't come through on their end. In the future I will call and make sure they know about the no cheese. Either way, I was very happy with their response and quick repair. They did not act like it was an inconvenience or show any frustration. We are very grateful that they sent a new pizza because our daughter wouldn't have gotten dinner. Mistakes and glitches happen. What matters is how they are repaired. I like to do business with people who I know will make sure I'm taken care of and get what I payed for. Read moreI travel to Marietta, OH often for work as a truck driver. So I usually have to find delivery options if restaurants are not within walking distance from the motel. I Google local restaurants and find Smitty's and their menu. I call to place and order and get directed to call their other restaurant in Reno, OH that it's closer to the Baymont hotel. From the menu on Google, I order 2 what I thought was one size, ribeye steak sub, for 7.00 each. I asked for lettuce, tomatoes and mayo on both. Employee repeated my complete order back correctly and was told it would be 30 to 45 minutes for delivery. An hour and a half later I'm calling due to my food not being delivered. Was informed I needed to pay for the 2nd Ribeye sub due to a mistake when order was placed. When I asked for the total, it was 21.84, which is a bit more that 7.00x 2. I explained that their menu on Google was 7.00 and the employee said it was more for the large, which I didn't specify a size nor was I asked. Smittys is Well known for its AWESOME pizza that no longer taste the same as it had for many years in the past. Today for lunch I ordered one of my all time favorite subs off the menu. First they have a new ordering system and it took me 5 minutes to order a sub over the phone for pick up, once I arrived I’m lucky I did at that time because it was on its way out the door for a delivery order when I clearly stated I wanted to do pick up. Secondly, when having my sub I noticed they are no longer using the same deli meat for the turkey sub making it taste NOTHING like a smittys sub.
