Marina Poke House — Restaurant in Marina

I’ve never written a negative review before as I work in customer service as well & I really don’t like to complain, however this last visit to this place was really disappointing. I usually come here on my lunch breaks, the bowls are great & the owners are very nice. When I went this time, I ordered the same small bowl that I always do, but the kid behind the counter literally lightly sprinkled the toppings I requested. I’m talking like I literally received 5 pieces of cucumber, and what I would describe as a light dusting of the imitation crab, edamame and green onion. It was such a small amount that at first I thought he was joking, but then I was charged $20 for this itty bitty bowl. I did get avocado which is almost an extra $2 for 4 thin slices. I didn’t say anything because he was very polite and I felt bad, but I hope the owners will see this review and can make adjustments. It was a very sad...

I am so excited to have Poke available regularly in the Seaside-Marina area. Poke House is a no-frills, incredibly affordable and friendly place to enjoy this Hawaiian answer to sushi! My family and I have ordered from Poke House about six or seven times in the three months they've been open, after waiting with our mouths salivating for months in front of their "Coming Soon" sign. It was worth the wait.

Speaking of wait, there's almost never a long one in this cafeteria-server style restaurant. There is a modest amount of in-house seating available and I've never seen it entirely filled.

Some of my family members are less inclined than I am to raw fish but they love the sushi-style roll that's about 12 inches long and goes for a mere $1.75.

Poké House has a lot going for it. I've only been here once, so far, and the experience was very satisfying. I built a "regular" size bowl with three scoops of protein, sushi rice, house sauce, some toppings, and they also added some krab as a bonus protein which is a nice plus. Then I added a spicy aioli and ended up with a tasty lunch bowl for $ 9.50.

The staff is very friendly and they are also patient with the newbies who haven't done this before. Although I've done something similar, and was comfortable with the process, it's nice to see that they are so helpful.
