Very nice people very nice restaurant great service. It hurts me to say this. I’ve been searching for a real authentic Chinese place since I moved here to Iowa got back to the hotel opened up my food. I ordered beef and mushrooms. There was an assortment of many other vegetables in there which I don’t mind I love vegetables, but I’m used to custom traditional beef and mushroom started with the egg roll phenomenal it was amazing that I opened up my dish and the smell was like that of a urinal or Porta potty. I kept smelling and smelling thinking I was crazy literally smelled like urine I figured , I spent money on it. Let me try it. It looks amazing. Had a red tint to it which I’m not used to. I don’t know that is what’s making the smell. I bite into it tastes like pee!!! The mushrooms Tasted like straight vegetable oil from a deep fryer, clean vegetable oil, not dirty still not a good taste breaks my heart to even write this because I was so excited I’ve eaten Chinese and of places I love Chinese food Oriental… I’m sure the other dishes are great. Well, I’m not sure. I’m just being optimistic, but damn couldn’t do. It had to throw out waste of money. Hopefully, they were just having a rough day and that dish was off, but I will never know cause I will not go back. I’ve never had food smell or taste like that like urine. I suggest you guys try your dishes before serving them. Maybe it’s been a long time since you’ve eaten your own food to blame my own pallet, but that’s not the case I’m from New York. I’ve eaten every cultural dish can think of. Best of luck to you please try your dish. It needs a big change. Maybe it’s the oil that does that I couldn’t tell you. Btw The rice was super dry chicken fried rice With no peas or carrots, which is very weird to me but hey Maybe that’s what people around here like. One more thing there is no sign directly above the store so I was driving circles for 10 minutes trying to find it seeing as I am...
Read moreI have been trying to call China king restaurant for over a week.. I finally drove out there yesterday And found that they were closed.. I don't know if this is a permanent closure is when it closure or just temporary there's no sign or indication. There is a lot of construction going on around the area. It's a shame if we lose this nice little Chinese restaurant as is there food for takeout was better than other places in the region.. If they read this message it would be nice if they would put a notice on their website So their customers would know whether or not they're going to reopen and win.
What a great surprise! Every christmas I watch the christmas story and eat Chinese food.. When the time came to order the food I didn't know where to go!! I called China king and they were more than accommodating and they were open on Christmas Day. Though it took a little navigating to figure out exactly where they are located in Marion, behind the construction going on around the new library, It was well worth the adventure! I had an excellent bowl of wanton soup with wonton's that actually had a large filling in each of them.. My main course course was an Orange chicken the that was outstanding.. It was not overly sweet and actually had a little spice to it. I backed this with their excellent house fried rice. This is now my new favorite Chinese restaurant...
Read moreNice people but food wasn’t as advertised. My wife said “Just get me something with pea pods. Only thing on the menu with pea pods was Szechwan Double Delight so I ordered it. For me I ordered Seafood Delight which claimed shrimp, scallops and crab meat. I also ordered Egg Foo Young. The Szechwan Double delight had NO snow peas. The Seafood Delight had shrimp, IMITATION crab meat and NO scallops. The egg foo young had NO bean sprouts. The food was all freshly prepared and , except for the egg foo Young, tasted okay but it’s frustrating that it wasn’t as advertised. I called and was told “We don’t have snow peas.” I said “Then why are they on your menu?” She asked if I looked at the menu on the internet. I said “No, it was the menu you handed me in the restaurant. It says snow peas.” She repeated that they have no snow peas. So, no snow peas, no scallops, no bean sprouts in the egg foo young, which wasn’t good and the sauce was not good either. I paid $16.95 for Seafood Delight, the most expensive thing on the menu because it has shrimp, scallops and crab. Of those, all I got was shrimp and imitation crab meat which is cheap. Lots of cheaper...
