The service was horrible as soon as I walked thru the door!! No, employee out of the two manning the greeters booth not speaking, was the least of the horrific service!! I approached one of the workers, who thought I brought my own food!! After, I advised her I called in and ordered ahead!! She offered me a seat at the scraped filled bar, full of half eaten food and trash!! Where she thought I would eat the food that I brought in myself, with empty hands!! When the manager on shift came to aid her incompetent employee, I had to explain to her several times I was there to get my preorder meal and I'd like to eat it there!! When she finally grasp the concept, she told me to exit the build, where I would find a curb side pick up!! I had to explain once again I was going to try and enjoy my meal at this point at a both. She hesitantly headed to get my food, leaving my 25 dollar gift card and 11 cents cash to pay for the meal!! I advised her she was leaving behind my payment and might need it, to save her the hastle. She, reluctantly to my payment and went to get my food and tried rushing me out!! Almost, like she forgot I told her I’d like a booth to enjoy my meal!! Reluctantly, she granted me permission to have a seat at the soiled bar too. So, I headed that way as I got closer the bar became clearer and disgusted me more and more. When I arrived at the bar, a nice young lady greeted me with a smile and I asked could I sit at the booth across from the bar and she allowed me too!! I started with my cold blooming onion… Okay. Then, proceeded to try my cold rice and greens beens… Okay. Then, I check out the rolls, to find out there cold… Not even worth it. Swallowing my pride and lowering my standards already. I try the steak!! To find out it’s practically still mooing, more than half raw, cold, I asked for Medium well, and expected it to be hot. Not raw, cold, and still bleeding. I couldn’t go on with it any longer and asked for the manager. She asked would I like the same steak to go back on the grill!! I said no?!? A fresh one, please!! She showed reluctance again to replace the everything but, medium-well steak. To return with another everything but, medium-well close to raw steak. At the point I ask for a third steak to be prepared medium-well and for this time it to be cut and checked for accuracy for assurance of being medium-well by the chief. Informed me that that couldn’t be honored because, Texas road house does not cut open steaks to insure proper cook to order!! I asked for my cash back she said no leave and began making up with all kinds of allegations for me to leave before she called the cops. Which she did because, she refused to refund me. Also, I asked for her name and 3 other employee names. Which she refused to provide me!! I will be picking up the police report for the Marion police department with what should have the names of the four employees which probably won’t because the officers refused to let me identify them!! I’ll be called corporate for sure!! Here is a picture of my...
Read moreFirst time at this location. Walked in and gave my name & was told it would take 20-30 minutes. No big deal. Waited 40 minutes before asking girl at counter about how long to wait. She said she had paged me and said I was bumped from wait list since I didn't show up. I showed her my phone and the text sent said "You are on the waiting list." I asked her if this meant I was to come up? She seemed confused and sent another "call" (text). I got 3 at once. I had bad reception in there, but if I did, likely others do as well so maybe using the phone is not the best way to share your table is ready. I did notice others were actually called up by table servers yelling out names but I was 10' from the counter and no one called out my name. Not the end of the world, just a suggestion.
That leads me to the big issue. The music was BLARING so loud you could barely talk to one another. When the servers did their dance, they turned it up even more. I find it unlikely that most could tolerate that level of music. I did hear the music turned down a time or two (from a level 10 to 9, guessing someone complained). But it went right back up minutes later.
My mom, in her 80s, actually sat waiting with her fingers in her ears. My dad took his hearing aid out and later, at the table, joked "my hearing aid went deaf." I finally asked our server if there was a reason it was so loud and she did turn it down a bit (from level 10 to 8). My mistake was not telling the manager when she came around to check on how our server was doing ("Fine!"). It was so loud I could barely hear my parents and sure they heard little of what my wife and I said. As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed a woman sitting at next table talking to their server. When the server walked away, I heard her loudly (she had no choice) tell her husband, "I can't hear myself talk!", so I know it bothered her. There's no reason to have music blaring that loud in a restaurant barring maybe a live performance. If others like it, fine, but we will not return to this TR. From entering the restaurant until we left took 2 hours.
To be fair, the food was very good and the portions were plentiful. We all enjoyed the food. I would maybe do carry out but we are from out of town. I appreciated our table server turning the music down after my request so I gave them a 3 overall. Had the music been remotely tolerable, I would have...
Read moreMy wife and I have only gotten take out from here. It's always good and the order is right. The separate counter and register with awaiting staff member assures that I'm never there more than 5 minutes. They pull all the items out and explain what it is and ask you if the order is correct. If so, sign the receipt and you're on your way. I can't give 5 stars due to we haven't eaten inside yet.
Update #1: my wife and I finally ate inside and the food and wait staff was great. I would love to give 5 stars, but my wife and I were busy swatting away flies. I know its summer, but when there is a fly on the menu, another on the pepper shaker and another flying around our plates is a bit excessive. With that said, we will definitely dine inside again.
Update #2: Today I went a got our usual carry out. I walked in and was greeted by 2 of the 4 melinials. The asked if I had a carry out. I said yes and 1 of the girls went to the kitchen. I was confused because she came back with a soft drink as I stand there looking at an empty carry out counter. 1 of the 4 girls stated "she'll be right out". Moments later a 5th girl appears with my order. After I confirmed my order was correct I ordered more rolls because you can't order them when you place your order online. You might want to fix that! So she leaves to get the rolls. Meanwhile another gentleman walks in and was greeted on the same manner as me. He stands behind me patiently waiting. After a few minutes of listening to the 4 girls chatter, he asked if someone was working the carry out counter. The same girl states she'll be right with you. Minutes later the girl returned with my rolls and the helps the gentleman. I don't say this in any attempt to get anyone in trouble, unless the other 4 girls weren't doing their job. I say this ask if this Texas Roadhouse's procedure, rather it be national or local? If it is then maybe it should be reviewed. I feel 1 of the other girls could've easily asked the gentleman his name and went to get his order. Make the custom feel like they are important.
Update #3: my wife and I have gotten curb side many times and the the food along with the service is always good. The process is pretty easy and they usually have my order ready before the time...
