Jacquette's Bakery — Restaurant in Marple Township

This was the absolute worst experience. I've used this Bakery numerous times in the past and they were outstanding This time was TERRIBLE!!!!. Apparently they have a new baker and she gives you what she wants, not what you ordered. The ONLY reason I drive 20 miles to this establishment is for their pudding filled cakes. What I wanted for my parents 45th wedding anniversary was a 4 & 5 one number chocolate pudding filled, and one number vanilla pudding filled. I was initially told they don't do chocolate pudding filled. I immediately objected stating that wasn't true because I purchased a 50 a few years prior for my husband birthday. Thats when I was told there is a new baker and she couldn't do chocolate because the numbers had to be pound and they only do chocolate chip pound. I said that was fair, and I respect the honesty of the new baker, and her saying she wouldn't know how to do it. So I then said fine, I will take both numbers vanilla with vanilla pudding. No chocolate. I had a FULL conversation about how I only come to Bakery for pudding filled cakes. The understanding was that I was going to get 2 numbers, vanilla pound, with vanilla pudding. What I got was 2 numbers that were vanilla pound, NO PUDDING AT ALL!!! I called the Bakery once I cut the cake and spoke to what sound like a young male kid that was telling me basically I didn't even order a cake. After about 10mins on the phone he said call back tomorrow. So I did. I explained this entire mess all over again, only to now be told they don't do pudding filled numbers and I got what I paid for. WORNG!!!! If all I wanted was a pound cake I wouldn't have drove 20 miles to this location, I honestly would have gone to Denise's Bakery , Oterri's Bakery or Bredenbeck's Baker. The WORST experience EVER!!! Went to pick up a custom ordered cake for a Bridal Shower and was appalled when they showed me the cake. First it was not what I ordered, second the writing on the cake looked like a toddler wrote it. Then to add insult to injury the cake had what look like dirt or smudge marks in the center of the cake. The staff was BEYOND rude and unprofessional when questioned about the cake. Said it could be fixed BUT it would cost an additional $200.00, for a MISTAKE THEY MADE. I was embarrassed to even put the cake on the table, but had no choice but to take the cake and try to do damage control and fix it myself to make it look even a little bit presentable. The staff said that I should be more understanding and do better at supporting small business. I would have no problem doing it IF THEY stood behind their work and gave me the cake I ordered and paid for. They give small business a bad name and then try to hide behind it. They bring out the worst in people. With bad business and bad management. DO NOT EVER ORDER A CUSTOM CAKE FROM HERE. I can almost guarantee you will not get what you asked...

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS BAKERY!!! What I am highly upset about is that Jacquette’s Bakery gave my mother’s birthday cake to the wrong person and when my father went to pick up my mother’s cake, they acted as though the order was never placed!! After looking through their receipts, they found another customer was given my mother’s cake due to having the same last name. I spoke on the phone with Jacquette’s Bakery twice and emailed them twice prior to my father picking up the cake to make sure the order was correct. The gentleman said he would have a cake baked and delivered to my house the same day since they made a huge mistake. Not even an hour after my father gets home this cake was delivered. How dare Jacquette’s think this cake is acceptable!!! Randomly, used fake flowers were shoved in the cake, making it crack. Sugar pearls were placed sloppily on the perimeter and anyone who has baked a cake knows a fresh cake cannot be baked in an hour!! It shows how unprofessional and classless they are to give a customer a rushed cake!! My mother is very upset and you ruined her birthday!! We will NEVER support...
