Review updated 08/16: I added pictures showing a Big Boy in lower Michigan that despite the economy, they still have the same prices and the correct spaghetti sauce as the Marquette one has changed. Food still good but Steve is now trying to rip people off. I used to be a regular customer for years, one of the families spending a lot of money ordering out during Covid lockdown, and have came here many times since. The prices are now very unacceptable. If you look at any of the Big Boys in the state, they still charge the original amounts. Livonia/Detroit area for pasta $11.99 or endless $13.99; Marquette Big Boy $16.99 for endless. Buffets in those areas still $12.99 or $13.99, Marquette $15.99. When asked why the prices are higher, the management claims “Higher food costs”. I call false on that statement. All the Big Boys not owned by Steve still charge the regular prices and are always packed, Steve’s Big Boy, $3-$5 higher on everything, and not half as busy as they used to be. This used to be my family’s go to place, but no more. Steve, stop being greedy and lower down your prices; and then you will get more people to eat here again, and you’ll make more money again. This should no longer be called “Big Boy” because it has lost all the values of what all the Michigan Big Boys have always been known for. It should now just be “Steve’s Diner”.

Probably the absolute worst Big Boy I have ever been to. My boyfriend got the bacon mac n cheese - literally canned cheese sauce. He didn't even want to eat it, we sent it back and thankfully were able to receive something else. Salad/soup bar had old, browning lettuce. Soup had a layer or starch and oil on top. Ranch seemed to be made with cottage cheese or its been sitting extremely long. I have never sent anything back at a restaurant or been this disappointed. Would have rather went to Wendy's across the street... 🙃

Amazing service and good food! A must stop for affordable and good lunch or dinner. I had chili 7/10, I recommend getting onions and cheese. I also got a side salad with a southwest ranch dressing 8/10 and chicken strips 7/10. My sister had the Cajun pasta and she wasn’t a fan but I thought it was good 7/10. My husband had the build your own omelet and it was 8/10. My sisters boyfriend had breaded shrimp and fries. They were 6.5/10. The service was amazing, they were attentive and very helpful.

Son took us all out for mother's day dinner, guess we should of went elsewhere. We ordered our meals. My husband wanted a chocolate milk shake, and a BBQ burger. My son and his friend ordered all you can eat pasta pinnie with alfredo and chicken both wanted salad bar. I ordered pot roast mashed potatoes and salad bar. We didn't get silverware for about 15 mins after having our salads in front of us. Mind you the server came back to our table 3 time before were got the silverware and shake. He tried saying the alfredo doesn't come with chicken, we told him yes it does the menu says it, and they want chicken. Our food and my husband's shake finally arrived. My pot roast minus potatoes, and the 2 alfredo minus chicken. I said umm where are the potatoes and chicken. He tried to say they can't do the chicken and because I ordered the salad bar I don't get potatoes. Ummm no, please get me potatoes they are included with the meal and the chicken cones with the alfredo via the menu. Server left and about 10 mins later returned with potatoes saying the chicken would be out shortly. Well the chicken never came, the 2 wanted more of the endless pasta so reordered more. After about 20 mins of no food they asked for it to go. We waited another 10 mins and server brought bill and 2 of the smallest orders of chicken alfredo in to go boxes with tomatoes on it ??? What the heck tomatoes really? So we proceeded to register where I asked to talk to a manager, who told me tomatoes come on the cajian chicken. . Umm noone ordered cajian chicken it was chicken alfredo. Manager said it doesn't come with chicken, well menu in hand I kindly pointed out on the menu your choice of meat... sorry but apparently everyone at big boy needs more training. We all work at a restaurant and this was the worst experience ever...

Stopped in for a quick lunch. We were immediately seated at a table near the buffet. As I looked on the floor , it was terrible. There was food all over the floor that could have been easily swept up. We ordered our food. My plate came out but my husbands was like 10-15 minutes later. So as we nibbled on my fries, my sandwich went cold waiting for his lunch to arrive. My sandwich was just a grilled cheese which ended up not even melted as I noticed when I took a bite. When the waitress came, I told her about it so she offered to have a fresh one made. Once again one of us had our meal while the other waited. The sandwich came in a short while but was basically less grilled then the first one. The service was terrible even though there were several girls working, it took our waitress awhile to remember to bring a drink refill too. We were discounted on our bill but this was by far one of the worst “Birthday “ lunches I have ever had. I will not be returning to the restaurant. I thought I’d give it another shot since it had been 5 years since the last time I was there. Farewell, to the Restaurant that was outstanding from my childhood. I will never return. Oh, and as an additional disgusting fact… there was someone’s dreadlock about 12 inches long laying right at the door entrance. I guess that should have been my clue to turn...
