Jilbert Dairy Inc — Restaurant in Marquette

Today we went to Jilberts for the first time. It was 12 minutes to 10 pm. Their sign shows open until 10 pm. When we arrived they were literally kicking out a father and his small child because they said they were "closed". The father and child were already in the door and clearly dad was disgruntled and saying the same thing about the closing hours. When we walked up the lady rudely told us they were closed and were not serving any more customers. I say if you want to close at 9:48 pm then set your hours to that. They were not understaffed. We could visbily see 3 workers serving ice cream. They were not jam packed. There were only maybe 5 or 6 other customers in their store. The ice cream was awesome, especially the Blueberry Waffle Cone and the Cherry Amaretto Mackinac Island Fudge Ice Cream. The servings were decent and the price was a great value. We got two doubles and two singles all in waffle cones for $12. The staff was eh, the one girl Ashley seemed friendly but the other girl was not very friendly. We went in about 20 mins before closing time and you could tell it annoyed her. While I understand wanting to get off work and that customers can slow down your closing duty it comes with the job, you shouldn't openly express it to customers or in front of customers. I take my son to Jilberts at least once a week typically around 4pm- we absolutely love the ice cream and the staff when we go. However, tonight we got to the door at 5:40 (I checked the time on my phone) and had the door locked practically right in front of our faces as we were going to open it. They claimed they were closed and the line was too long- I personally have seen them get through lines out the door in 5 minutes, and this line was nowhere near the door!
