I enjoyed my chowder and salad, but my husbandâs $21 fish tacos were bland and very small. The major issue we had with this establishment was the transparency fund fee that was added to our bill. We saw no mention anywhere that an additional 4% transparency fund fee would be added to our bill, which in hindsight, I should have demanded it be removed. In addition, they include the transparency fund fee and the tax (not uncommon, but not ethical) in their calculations for tipping. Needless to say, we will not frequent this place again. PS⌠shame on those who donât question an added fee on their final bill. Their use of the term âtransparency fundâ is an oxymoron, because you donât see it coming.
Edited to respond to the owner: Well, maybe I stand corrected, but we never saw any posting of your âtransparency fundâ and how many people do you know search for notices of hidden fees when going out for a relaxing, late lunch? Shame on you for squeezing every penny you can get out of your customers. We almost deducted it from our servers tip, but that would not have been fair to him. By the way, Sean is an asset to...
Read moreMan, I have found a new happy place. Happy hour twice a day for flights. $5 for 24 options, and great fries as a side.
First visit to this place but man I am impressed, and will be coming back.
The Short's Goodnight Bodacious, is a very dark, double black IPA. It has a large hint of coffee, and is match with it's bitterness, but still very smoothe.
The Lagunita's Super Cluster smells of a super cluster of fruit, I'm guessing this is where it got it's name. Taste also fruity, medium bitterness, followed by a smoothe herbal aftertaste. So far my favorite. Single hop double IPA.
The Bell's Hopslam a classic double IPA filled with a classy floral taste, almost creamy. It flows easily with a hint of grapefruit, overall a great balancer in-between beers, and an even better beer as a 16 oz.
The Petoskey Cranium Crush a Cream Ale ohh my Lord. This is the way to finish any flight. A smoothe creamy beer, with a great taste of raspberries, followed with a touch of vanilla in the after taste. Delicious and a must try, not quite sure if I could drink a 16 oz. I'll let you know next...
Read moreIn town for the weekend, I wanted to have something unique to Marquette. What a bummer this place turned out to be. An hour wait for a table for the two of us. It was during peak dinner time. Slightly annoying, but understandable given the time of day. I ordered the Iron Bay IPA. It's listed as a Session IPA but it's actually closer to a lightly hopped wheat. I ordered a burger with bacon and onion straws and cherry BBQ sauce, which sounds like a slam dunk. My better half ordered the fish and chips. An hour later, after the crowd had thinned out substantially, our food showed up. I think I know why it took so long: they must have been cooking our food the entire time. My burger was well done, her fish was a mushy mess. The sauce on the burger was good, but they kind of skimped on it. After we paid, I kind of wanted to grab a cookie to go. But, I decided they robbed enough from us and I was not willing to fork anymore cash over. I'm assuming this place thrives on tourists, because there is no way a self respecting local goes back a...
